| I doubt anyone knows the original for sure. This documentary kind of shows that. It's from the days of vaudeville, maybe before. All it has is a setup and a punchline. The idea is to let the comedian improvise whatever his mind can think of. btw: I already saw the movie, forgot it was still being rolled out for release. It didn't last long at my theater, so I'm glad I saw it. It's very funny if you are an avid stand-up fan, as alot of comedians make an appearance. But, it feels like it brings you into the stand-up world, letting you have a friendly chat about the art of comedy with the peformers. Bob Saget's one is good, simply because it's Bob Saget telling one, something he plays up alot. I went and saw him at my local comedy club this last weekend too. He loves playing off his nice guy persona now. He's still a dirty comic, but he'll apologize profusely anytime he says something shocking, as if he just couldn't help himself. I liked it a lot for some reason. |
