I can hope, but deep down I know it's going to be absolutely horrible. Unless they get the entire crew that made Aliens together and make the movie exactly like that but with a Doom setting and only 1 marine, it's fucked.

But either way I'll still be seeing it anyway.

Things that suck about the new Doom

1) They are not demons
2) It's not Mars

Now I could forgive #2, but #1???? WTF???

I guess they are trying to make a "realistic" Doom ;O

This movie could either be great fun, or a massive failure. Based on most hollywood games to movie vehicles, i'm going with failure. However, i'll probably watch it :/

They shouldn't try to make it epic, and just have the Rock quoting one liners and kicking people's asses like he does best.

In his action films, they are sub-par until he starts getting badass all over candy asses.

Well the also intend to make the movie sorta humorous, instead of horrifying. I'm actually pretty glad to hear that, just because it is The Rock who does the main role.

I did hope for Mars or aliens/monsters, lots of funny moves (sorta like From Dusk Till Dawn) and just mindless slaughter.

I actually enjoyed Rundown. But then again I liked such classics as "They Live" and "Rocky III" !

Pretty sure that Karl Urban (Eomer from LOTR, Vako in Chronicles of Riddick) is the main good guy. It was announced he was the lead a year or two ago, but at the same time The Rock was also lobbying for a part in the movie. Not sure who he is supposed to be.

As far as the quality of the movie goes, I don't know. Urban's a pretty awesome actor from what I've seen of him, and I don't have a problem with the Rock either way. But from the sounds of it, the movie is barely even based on the game, no hell, no Mars, what the hell's the point? I think I read that instead of demons and so on, it's some sort of virus that turns people into zombies. Great, it's RE all over again.

Of course I wouldn't be surprised if he barged into universal pictures office proclaimed "I AM THE DOOM SERIES BIGGEST FAN! YOU MUST LET ME DIRECT THIS FILM" and end up getting the job.
