+4 Internets | I saw it today and enjoyed it. I have never read the books, but plan too now that I have seen the movie. |

| Romo is a manwhore | I enjoyed this. There wasn't a single point in the movie where I was conscious of anything other than what was in front of me, a fact that I use to guage any film that's less than 2 hours long. So that's a win in my book. A lot of the lines from the book made it into the movie, but there were some that were hit or miss depending on your taste in humor. As it stands, this is a very British film so if you don't like British humor then you might not like this. There's quite a few subtle jokes that still make me smile when I think about them, and I don't think I'll ever look at a barfing the same way again. It's worth your time to go see this if you're a fan of Adams' work. They definitely captured the spirit of his books and while certain elements feel forced (i.e. the love aspect), when they focus on what Adams himself had a hand in creating, they pretty much nail it. |

+4 Internets | Yeah, Sin City only made 29.1 million it's opening weekend. Ring Two beat that out with an opening weekend of 35 million. Robots made 36 million the weekend before. But its really sad that The Pacifier beat out Sin City and Hitchhikers with 30 million. Over the last two monthes though, the best weekend was Hitch which made 43.1 million. ![]() |

| Overall while I enjoyed it, I was pretty disappointed. I couldn't help compare the movie to the TV series and in every instance the TV series did it better. In many instances just 2 or 3 more words in a scene would have made much more sence and made it much more funny. Considering how much got cut out of the book it's weird that they added so much in that wasn't in the book... whats perverse though is that that was the funniest stuff. Not that I or anyone else in the theatre laughed all that much. =/ |

| I found it very disappointing, and other than the excellent work done by Henson's studio, I prefer the BBC version in every way. I'm not a big purist when it comes to the books either. I've read everything DNA wrote, but only once or twice each and haven't read HHGTTG itself in about 15 years. I just didn't find the movie funny at all. |
