Million Dollar Baby

I had high expectations going in since everyone is hailing this as the movie of the year and it honestly didnt disappoint. The story was good but the acting is what made it. The relationship between morgan freeman and clint eastwood was awesome, it seemed so real it was hard to tell they were acting. Im not gonna include any spoilers, ill just say that if you think its a dumb boxing movie, you're totally wrong, and you will never expect what happens to happen.

Theres a scene close to the end where Maggie ( Hilary Swank ) asks Frankie ( Clint Eastwood ) to do something for him and his reaction is so powerful...... you gotta see it, its definitely in the top 5 for movie of the year.

Movie is unfuckingbelieveable, I went into it expecitng a boxing movie, but saw it cause I like Mystic River. At the end of the movie my girlfriend was crying and the whole theater was standing clapping. Definitely movie of the year.

And yes so far it is limited release.

It was a very good movie. I would put it just below Eternal Sunshine, Sideways, and Aviator (I know most would probably disagree with this). The only problems I had with it were her family (too over the top) and at one point in the movie it seemed like a comedy (too many little funny things one after another). No major problems, just little things that take away from the overall effect a bit.

Ok I've seen 66% of the movie (didn't know it was 3 CD's when I started watching, probably would have waited) and really like it.

But, there was one thing in it that is crazy-awesome. There's a point like halfway through where Frankie is talking to Maggie (not long after he decided to train her) and he says "Good, good" and I swear to christ it is IDENTICAL to the "suspected arsonist" from that one episode of Family Guy. The one that's a giant bug that breathes fire.

This movie was absolutely incredible. The lighting, the acting, the directing, the visceral intensity during the bout scenes... it had it all.

Forget Sideways. MDB for Best Picture, Eastwood for best Director (he should've gotten it last year for MR IMO, but apperantly the academy had to pay it's LOTR duties~) and Swank for Best Actress.

Go watch it if you haven't yet, you won't be dissapointed.
