Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

Was wondering if anyone had seen it and what their opinions on it are.

I LOVED it. I'm a huge fan of the books, so I was pretty apprehensive when I went to see it, but I was far from disappointed. Jim Carrey is just awesome as Count Olaf, and all the kids are pretty good. It's just a really really awesome movie. If you haven't read the books though, I'm not sure how much you could appreciate it. But it's the best book to movie adaption I've seen.

Never read the books.... and hated it... wasn't entertained mainly because i felt it was too surface level. Everything you expected happened, and it just seemed like there were a lot of details left out.

So, if you know nothing about it, then i wouldn't even pay the cost of admissions to see it..

I never read the books and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a good movie to smoke before hand and then go see.

Whoever did the sets and directing had a great way of making the entire movie look like a storybook. That sounds odd, but I don't know how else to explain it. It has that look about it.

I haven't read the books either, but I also thought that were were a lot of details left out. Not a bad movie, but I'm sure I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I had read the books first.

Not a bad movie but it could have been better. I think it was a fairly good adaptation from the books its really had the feel down but it did feel like details were missing. The best parts were probably the side characters and the random lines they would throw in, a few really funny lines in there.

I liked this movie, but Jim Carrey was my least favorite part of it. Would have been better played by someone a little more subtle (or someone a lot more subtle). I thought the kids were great though, especially the girl.
