| Under contract, Pixar only owes them like one or two more films (The next one is called Cars). I'm not sure how sequels fall under it...but I somehow doubt Pixar would allow themselves to be stuck in a contract that would allow infinate sequels ;p

| Good movie but some parts seemed a bit dark for Pixar... "These arn't like the bad guys you see on TV, they don't care if you are children. They will kill you." ...trying to toughen kids up to terrorists or what?

| Sadly there wont be an Incredibles sequel unless Disney gets a specific contract with Pixar. Their previous contract, which will be up after Cars, states that Disney has the rights to all the characters in Pixar's movies. I imagine after Pixar splits Disney will do everything they can to sludge the movies through over exposure in a bid to make some money. Seriously, name the last Disney movie (animated or not) that was good. Disney has been riding on Pixar's coattails for a while now and when theyre forced to stand alone once again perhaps well get some true Disney works instead of the formulaic stuff theyve been doing for a while.

| Heh, I just went to the Episode 3 trailer, but damn my eyes if this wasn't a very decent CGI movie. I thought Little Nemo was complete shit, but this one here is good. I recommend giving it a look. |

+3 Internets | I think the Disney/Pixar thing is up in the air. I haven't kept up with it lately, but basically Eisner is a cocksucker. Right now the contract gives Disney pretty much all the copywrite rights as well as 50% of each movie's gross. It was a good enough deal for Pixar initially when they needed Disney for distributing and name recognition, but not anymore. Pixar does everything from conception to writing to casting to animating. Disney can't do much of anything well anymore, which definately includes CG. Evidence can be seen in the Chicken Little trailer, which I happily booed in the theatre the other night. Pixar obviously doesn't want to lose the right to do sequels of their past work. Eisner is retiring in 2006 I believe, so although originally Pixar thought they were going to find a new producer after Cars, now it's a bit less advantageous to get away from Disney if they can work out a better contract. Anyway, The Incredibles is the best CG movie of all time, Pixar are gods among men, and Boundin' was worth the price of admission. So go see it!

They could concievably do a sequal to The Incredibles once Pixar goes free of Disney. Sure Pixar's contract is pretty shitty right now, but after they fulfill it after the next (or two?) movies, Pixar will be in a great place to do things. I'm sure Disney wont turn down free money to let Pixar use the characters for a sequal. And I'm sure Pixar will be in a good enough position after the last 10 years or so of movie making that they will have a great contract for themselves. I'm sure we havent seen the last of the "Disney Presents a Pixar film" movies, even after the existing contract is up. Putting Disney's name on things is far too valuable, except the next movies will probably have contracts far more in Pixar's favor. | |
