One Piece definitely got a bum deal when it came to its licensing in the US. The main problem being the fact that the show does have a lot of serious/more adult related overtones, and the first round of dubbing tried to make it preschooler friendly.

It's a shame too, since out of all the popular shows lately, One Piece has the best concept/writing of the bunch.

The Thriller Bark arc is getting DBZ like treatment it's so slow and boring(It doesn't help that it was a weak arc in the manga on it's own). 1 chapter filling out an entire episode seems like the current trend, with filler content to lengthen the fights and chases.

But I don't think there has been a 100% filler episode after 357.

I think the reason why they do that is because they're very close to the manga. You have to remember that there were no fillers from Enies Lobby to Thriller Bark; and the manga was on Thriller Bark when the anime was on Enies Lobby. If it had been Naruto or Bleach, you'd bet your ass it would've been a filler.

I count 22 Episodes of filler between Enies Lobby and Thriller bark. But yeah, no 100+ filler episodes like Naruto and soon to be Bleach.

I don't watch fillers out of principle. But the new chapter came out. Boa Hancock sounds like Luffy is going to encounter a Shichibukai or one of the Yonkou, or perhaps Lolas Mom?

Giving this a bump because the chapters have been excellent and so has the anime. I'm really surprised people who enjoy Naruto so much haven't been talking about this since I find it to be much more satisfying to watch.

I am somewhat surprised there has been no talk on this since right now both the Anime and the Manga are in very interesting parts. The eleven supernova's right now are a pretty interesting bunch and I am very curious to see what they have planned for them. I wonder if the Strawhats bounty are going to be increased soon since they already have some of the highest in the series.

In the manga all shit in breaking loose in Impel Down, I have no clue what Blackbeard is doing but I am very interested in the outcome of Ace, and what Whitebeard is going to bring to the table.

One Piece is truly epic in all forms. Sucks that it hasn't gotten the attention that other anime/mangas have (at least in the west)

Ive been watching one piece quite closely for a couple years now, its by far my favorite manga/anime series running. Whats going on in the manga now is some pure epic shit, I cant wait to see what goes down at HQ and the future bounties on Luffy's head.

We're going to be expecting a couple fillers, but then it's straight to the Amazonian Women which is peculiar since it's so close to the manga. Oh well, I guess that's one good thing about One Piece...even when it has a filler (I think we've only had 2? filler arcs), it'll still be good.

What's great about the manga is that they explored some of the stories/adventures of some of the lost crew members (Sanji and Robin) through the covers of the chapters -- WHICH leads me to believe that any filler in the anime will be based on what has/is happening to the other crew members.
