There's a reason why I left Batman out of the picture. The way DC is writing Batman nowadays, he could beat God. He just recently soloed Darkseid. They give him all the l33t strats and his 'sploits have 'sploits.

Give anyone enough prep time and unlimited access to Kryptonite and of course they can beat Superman. Set him up just right and he's toast, which is why Lex Luthor was always a credible opponent for him even if he didn't have any powers of his own.

I'm not a fan of the "Storm is an Omega-level mutant" either, but then again I never really liked her. Sure the way they depict her she's pretty damn powerful, but to be "just under" someone like Dark Phoenix is pretty absurd in my opinion. She ate fucking planets. Dark Phoenix would have queefed and killed Storm with the blast, multiple ice storms notwithstanding. If you're going to call Storm omega-level, then someone like Dark Phoenix (and Thor, Hulk, etc) should be "Over-Omega-9000-Level."

I need to get some work done, or else I'd dig through the collection. It was in the Batman/Superman title some time in 2007. I don't know what number it was, but if you download Digital Comics Preserve regularly, I am sure you could find it in 15 mins or so. The fight involved Superman getting owned by Darkseid, and then Batman being able to avoid Darkseid's one-shot kill power, and then standing toe-to-toe and meleeing him! After Darkseid gets Batman on the ropes, Batman says, "If you kill me, you kill your planet. While I had time to prepare, I connected bombs to the all the firepits on this planet. If you kill me, I kill your throne world." Darkseid backs down, and Batman saves both Supergirl and Superman.

Batman has gone past they typical ways of using Kryptonite, magic or telepathic means. He's constantly devising ways to beat everyone, including his closest friends. The last time one Batman's 'splots were used, he was able (actually Ras Al Ghul stole the idea) to magnify Superman's powers to the extent that Superman couldn't move for fear of killing everybody in his presence.

Superman is supposed to be such a great friend, yet he keeps coming up with ways to beat Superman. Superman asks him to knock it off, Batman says ok I will, and then Batman just starts up new anti-Superman experiments in lead lining. All Batman does is prepare weapons exploiting weaknesses for every hero and villain.
