Nobody said anything about "deserved" or that it was even "ok". He said Japan had reason. There's quite a bit of difference there.

WTF? The Great Depression was 1929, U.S. started to heavily increased military spending as response to Axis agression in 1939 and entered WWII in 1941.

Even if you believe government action helped pull out of the Great Depression, it be the New Deal, and even that is disputed.
