| +Internets can now be exchanged for free original thought potions! | Civil War I've been meaning to catch up on the Marvel Civil War series. I know that their is a rather long reading order, found here: comic : BorkWeb But I've heard they're making graphic novels soon to compress that. Anyone know the order in which to read the graphic novels and when they'll be out? BTW read the intro issue to the Skrull Invasion series, very cool stuff. |

too bad it's nothing like that. it had the potential to be a groundbreaking storyline that would change marvel universe to its core, but in the end it failed the target by a long shot

| It starts out fine, the middle is fine, it just doesn't have a satisfying end. At all. The What Ifs and Epilogues help a bit because they essentially just kick Tony Stark in the sack a few times, which he needed. Then they kill off Captain America and Mephistopholes undoes everything that was making Spiderman pretty damned interesting. Bleh. The Initiative series is the best thing to come out of Civil War and it only comes out like once every six weeks. It's fucking bullshit. World War Hulk also doesn't come together very well although Planet Hulk was pretty cool. Meanwhile DC is still working through this god fucking awful Crisis bullshit which is a same because The Sinestro Wars were all great. I'm hoping the Secret Invasion starting in April is good. So far the beginnings have been solid but these last couple years Marvel hasn't been able to satisfyingly finish a storyarc.

| Marvel sucks a fat dick right now. DC is doing way more interesting work, at least Grant Morrison is willing to push the envelope with his Final Crisis series, whereas Marvel gets this fucking retarded Skrull invasion which they did back in the X-Men comics in 1999-2000 and it sucked then. Basically modern superhero comics is a bunch of people (Millar, Bendis, et al) jerking themselves off to try to think up of the wittiest one liner they can and then write the comic around it, while telling the same stupid stories we've seen for about 40 years. It's insulting and it's the reason comic book writers are, for the most part, one step up from graffiti artists. |
