WoT, book 12 -- by Brandon Sanderson

Mistborn

Hate the series, and couldn't really give a shit. I figure some will take interest, though.

Awesome, called that one. Sanderson will probably do a better job than Jordan could have actually...

Yeah, I like Sanderson a fair amount. I didn't think Elantris was especially impressive, but it was great fun and I had no real problems with it. I'm curious as to how this will turn out, but I'm not going to read 10.5 (made it halfway through the first one) books to find out.

Having endured the last few books in the series, I really hope that this guy is a miracle worker. There are so many fill in the blanks that need to be accounted for...A certain Aes Sedai gone missing before a death of a certain Forsaken, the minor incident of a particular hand gone missing, and etc... Though my opinion matters very little, I would much rather this never be finished if the next book is full of that Aes Sedai filler like the previous books.

Exerpt from the interview:

"However, know that I intend to use EVERY BIT of actual written text from Mr. Jordan, and in intend to follow those outlines as exactly as possible. I've been told that there is a substantial amount that I will have to come up with, but I will always have a guide--if only a few lines or dictated explanations"

Pretty damn pissed about this.

Hm, I doubt any author will/would be able to bring the series to a satifying end, not even Jordan could have done that in one book. Just far too many loose ends to take care in addition to moving forward to the finish. The last book felt too rushed to when I read it, and I fear this final book will be just as "rushed". I was hoping for a 2-3 more books, though that would suck since Jordan took too long between each.

Will be odd to see the last book on the shelf though and I'll buy it of course, but I can't see the book being good, there is just no way another author could capture Jordan's vision. Hopefully the book will be huge and will take longer than a day to read.

They could've put Richard Knaak up to finishing the series and it would've been an improvement.

At least they didn't get George R. R. Martin to finish it. He is much to busy watching football to write books.

The way he writes, he would finish it before A Dance with Dragons.

LOL yeah. As long as it's not A Dance with Dragons Martin would have no problems finishing it, promoting it and touring for it in under six months.

Sanderson is a good writer and I think his style will lend itself well to finishing the series.

Hell, it should be an improvement.

Doesn't matter who they pick because someone will name someone who they think is better.

Wow that sucks, I thought the family was told the ending and knew how each subplot was supposed to end??

Jordan allegedly gave an overview of the ending, that doesn't mean that every plot point leading up to the end was finished. There were a lot of different characters and events that need to happen from where Book 11 left off until the Last Battle, assuming the book even shows what happens at the Last Battle.

According to the interview, the last chapter may have been written already by Jordan but Sanderson wasn't for sure. I would imagine from all the interviews and blog entires I read of Jordan's there is a large amount of source material but no actual chapters and such written but its enough for Sanderson to work with.
I haven't read any of Sanderson work but shit just want the wheel of time series to come to a close, been reading it since it first came out.
