karakura town is high in spirit energy, aizen -supposedly- is going to destroy the town to create a new spirit key to open the gate to the kings area....

I'd go as far as to say i'm 95% confident that they are true. Bleach Asylum doesn't tend to post anything unless they have some sort of a confirmation anyhow - or at least i've never seen anything posted on those boards that was false and later retracted.

I do know the issue is called Too Close Your World, and it does fit the spoilers, but we'll know the real story soon enough.

What exactly is Aizen's power? The only time I've seen him in action is when he whooped on Ichigo. I guess that's part of the mystery. He just seems like the ultimate bad ass. I guess that's from not knowing.

His shikai's ability is complete hypnosis. If you see him release his sword, he can basically control all 5 of your senses as well as your ability to sense reiatsu. However, he's such a beast that he hasn't really had to use it since he left Soul Society. I'd say in terms of pure spiritual power he's second only to Yamamoto, or maybe even with Ukitake/Shunsui.

That's one thing that's always got me curious about Aizen. How the hell is anyone supposed to beat that technique? I mean, total hypnosis? Things like that just seem to be put in place for total plotkai later on.

See: Naruto and the Sharingan - last thing I want to see in Bleach is a 5 chapter Someone/Aizen fight, only to when it's finally almost over, Aizen to stand up and say, "kuku, you were under hypnosis from my sword."

That won't happen because he will one shot anyone he used shikai on. Why drag out a huge battle and use it dodge a big attack when you just create an illusion to stab someone?

He wouldn't fight all of SS at once since he used the menos to escape.
He wouldn't fight Unohana since she started to resist it, so he just ran away.
So obviously it has limits.

Towards the end of the manga they will probally start training to resist it maybe? Until... BAM overpowered Bankai

I'm pretty sure Yamamoto would be able to hold his own, since his shikai incinerates everything in the area. It would probably slow Aizen down enough for Yamamoto to get a few attacks in.

I imagine if you're ready for the technique it would have to be very, very subtle to have much of an affect on you. Unohana was able to begin resisting simply from her doubts...now that she knows the extent of Aizen's ability, I'd think she could see through such illusions. Same could be said for the more experienced / powerful captains.

Supposedly Kubo is gonna take a "break" once this arc is over and just put out back story for a few months before going back to the plot.
