| Zangetsu tells Ichigo what it's called during the Kenpachi/Ichigo fight. It's called Asauchi, which is: Wiki: Shinigami who are unable to communicate with their zanpakutō wield a nameless version known as asauchi, meaning shallow cut. It's technically Shikai, because any zanpaktou that has not been released tends to look identical; a plain samurai sword, but since Kenpachi's looks different (that whole jagged-edged ancient look to it), just like Ichigo's, it's assumed he's already in a constant released state. |

i'm pretty sure it looks the way it does because he's used it in so many battles. the jagged/chipped edges are a result of this. | |

| Flaccid Steel | No, the sword just looks like that... with kenpachi's spirit power, no one should really be able to dent his sword at all. It wouldn't be surprising his raw spirit power is only topped by the commander general dude. This last chapter was kind of surprising. It doesn't show anything new for Ken but it shows he's still got power to spare. Hopefully next chapter we will see something new. Doesn't need to be bankai. an attack or technique he's never shown before would be pretty cool (I don't think he's shown anything other than physical prowess). |

| I always wondered why Kenpachi wouldn't just take vacations in Hueco Mundo (sp?) to fight hollows nonstop given his thirst for fighting. I'm not 100% caught up on the manga but it never made sense for the shinigami's to not launch an offensive front against the hollows for no other reason than it's a Thursday. |

| They wouldn't for the sake of "Balance" between the human world and the spirits. Or maybe some other BS plot device. I'm kind of curious how Nell will end up, it would be a shame to just kill her off since the story would be much more interesting if she becomes the first Reverse Vizard or ends up being Ichigo's lieutenant like Yachiru is for Zaraki.

+11 Internets | Was anyone else disappointed with how it ended up for Nnoitra. I mean don't get me wrong Kenpachi is my of personal favorites. However, using such a poor shift in battle "I use two hands I am stonger" is a bit under-whelming. I was hoping for shikai or the name of his sword or something. I enjoy Bleach and read it and watch them as they are released, however the captains showing up and kicking ass with bankai, while Ichigo barely pulls the big W from Grimmjow in his mask kinda kills the power levels for me. It's really hard to judge how strong a character is because of the fluctuation going on. Another thing I hope happens at some point in the story is tying up some of the loose ends sitting out there. Ichigo's dad being a hallow then bam forgotten. Same shit with Ishida's, The Visards seem to have been forgotten as well. I would love to see a real fight with Urahara and someone. Sometimes I think their are to many characters that they just get swept under the rug and never explained.

| Go Dawgs! | While the ending of the Kenpachi fight was indeed kind of lame, it looks like we're coming up on a pretty awesome part of the story. The flashback with Nell and Nnoitra and the little tidbit about a new threat appearing before Ichigo/enemy's true colors makes it sound like we're finally going to see the plot move forward instead of random fighting for the next 10 chapters. Any theories on who the new threat is? The logical guesses would be Ulquiorra, who escaped from the Caja Negacion, or Halibel, who has been watching the whole time. An interesting possibility would be Nell turning on Ichigo/Kenpachi after seeing Nnoitra killed, since it seems like she had a love/hate relationship with him in the flashback. An even more unlikely scenario would be Kenpachi revealing that the four captains are actually there to capture Ichigo, Orihime, and Co. and bring them back to Soul Society and imprison/punish them for invading Hueco Mundo against Yamamoto's orders, which might result in Ichigo fighting against the captains again. Regardless, I'm excited to see what will happen. |
