Nah, no way Ichigo will have to step in to save Kenpachi's ass. Kubo isn't that dumb, and everyone would have a field day if that happened.

Kenpachi will definately have to go Bankai to pull out this victory. That or just play another 'haha you think you hurt me? /whipass' card on Nnoitra's released form.

Edit: Interesting theory I see floating around, that i've yet to actually think on until now. The last un-named Espada - the old man. People are saying what if, that's actually like, Chad's Abuelo (Grandfather). It could bring more advancement to Chad's storyline, and given that they started the focus of how Chad's powers are more Hollow-like than Quincy/Shinigami-like, it's an interesting theory.

I dont think Kenpachi is pulling a bankai out of his ass.

I think he's gonna start laughing on the ground saying he hasn't had this much fun since hes fought Ichigo. Then he's going to toy around with this new release a little bit and end up having the upperhand by the end of the next chapter.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's managed a shikai release, but even then i think thats stretching things a bit.

Someone mentioned a few pages back that Kenpachi had addressed his Zanpaktou as a "him". Perhaps Ken really has accessed more of his sword's power?

Reading this thread reminded me I love bleach, not counting the god awful fillers.

Anyone know around what vol/chap it is where orihime asks the vizards to train her but shes rejected? Think thats the last anime episode I watched before it got such exciting episodes as lets play soccer the entire episode and I just quit.

I believe he is thanking Nnoitra for the warm up and is gonna use "him" (his sword) to thank him (Nnoitra).

or he is just referring to the sword in a similiar fashion that we refer to our posessions sometimes.

I won't be surprised if I see a shikai, but im going to be pissed if he has a bankai.

If Kenpachi gets a Shikai release, alot of people will be pissed. It's already been said that he's in a constant release state like Ichigo, so there isn't a shikai release for them.

Now I can maybe see him having learned his zanpaktou's name, and it causing a huge power increase of sorts, but not a shikai.

He can't learn shikai, like was already said, because he's already in shikai. However, learning his sword's name would also probably entail learning the name of some shikai abilities (i.e. Ichigo's Getsuga Tenshou) in addition to a large power-up.

um, hes never released his sword. He said as much himself in the SS Arc. In fact he goes so far to say that Ichigo's weak for relying on the power of others (ie his sword) rather than your own power.

I dont ever recall it stating in the manga that his sword is like ichigos and is in a permanent released state.

Shikai isn't the true form of the sword, neither is bankai either. Thats just the regular non-released state.

Ken's sword in that form is like ichigos huge sword from the initial arc.

I could be wrong, but that doesn't prove that its released.
