[Manga] Naruto (warning: spoilers up to current chapter)

Good chapter.

I want to know what the FUCK Naruto did to that forest.

One thing I thought Bleach did right is the main character is not super powerful in comparison to his peers. Ichigo is stronger than Ishida/Chad/Renji, but the captains are still stronger than him. In Bleach, they can use those characters once in awhile without being useless.

Now look at Naruto. The problem with Naruto is that Sasuke and Naruto are gaining power at such an exponential rate and they're leaving their peers in the dust. I would love to watch Shino or Kiba fighting but then against Akatsuki, how effective will they be? Neji will arguably be as capable as Naruto and Shikmaru is super smart but most of them aren't special.

We haven't seen them fight so I could be wrong, but what would be the point of the special training that both Sasuke and Naruto went through? However, that's not even the most important part. I just hate the fact Naruto just became so dumb after his fight with Neji. That was the peak of Naruto Awesomeness for me. It was just so fun to see Naruto get smart and stronger as the story progressed. It's like watching Warbound Hulk go back to the 70's Hulk (WWH -> Red Hulk).

So much good and interesting material went to waste. We've barely seen Shino fight.

EDIT: This sparked while reading Bleach in the recent chapters showing off new powers and they are not totally useless. Especially the captains.

I agree it seems Shino loses out on any chance to show what he is made of. The rookie 9 lost any chance to show their stuff. Hinata, Kiba, Shino, Neji, Lee, and Sai(Sai isn't a rookie 9 but he was introduced and hasn't done anything) need to show something. With the Naruto being stuck in training this is their chance to show their stuff vs Pain. I doubt it will go that route. O well this is what happens when you limit your self to ~500 chapters for a manga and put 13-15 pages in each.

That was pretty funny man but there are some flaws. There were enough super saiyans to go around and Goku wasn't dumb. He is pretty smart.

Scene changes.
Pain goes around asking for Naruto's whereabouts while killing bunch of ninja.

On top of the Hokage statues,
Tsunade summons slug
and let her treat the injured villagers

Scene changes to Kakashi.
Attack fails.
Pain takes off his clothes and reveals himself as Asura-like (with many faces and hands)
The surprised Kakashi is sucked towards Pain.
He immediately stabilize himself.
Kakashi (So this is his ability!)
One man can't win against him. I need to call for back-up. At that moment, his abdomen is pierced by Pain.

But it's just a raiton kagebunshin.
Then two giant hands appear behind Pain.

One down, Kakashi.
Chouji and his dad show up.

Kakashi climbs out from rubbles. Actually I'd also completed my preparation.
But still thanks for the help.

I dunno man. I'm about 50 episodes into bleach and Ichigo has already beaten Captain Jinglehair and the choir boy shot Captain Vegeta to hell and back. 50 episodes into Naruto, I think Naruto/Sasuke were looking like dumbasses trying to get bells from Kakashi while Kakashi was reading a book.

It'll suck if the only thing Kakashi was "preparing" was his Mangekyou void move. I have a feeling that isn't going to work on Pain.

Who's Captain Vegeta supposed to be? And if you say Byakuya Kuchiki, I have to ask why would you think he's the "Vegeta" of Bleach?

The only captains he really won against all let him win, the people who actually beat captains were fighting at somewhat of an advantage due to the captains only trying to capture them and not outright kill them.

Look at episode 52-53 for what kempachi really is like, he basicly only kills people when they ask for death or are hollows.

though back on track, I like how Naruto is focusing more on...gasp...naruto than sauske for a bit. The whole fanboy sauske sob story is just freaking annoying.

That's wrong. I know some people already mentioned some points but I'll point out some important things in the past arc.

If we look at the current arc, all the captains are basically as strong, if not stronger, than Ichigo with his Vizard power. Not sure why Kenpachi got beat, but Byakuya LET Ichigo beat him.

1) Byakuya beat the 7th Espada with relative ease. Once he used Bankai, the fight was over.

2) Mayuri, who is seemingly weak, basically toyed with the 8th Espada

3) Last but not least, Kenpachi beat the 5th Espada.

It shows while Ichigo can use ban kai and have Vizard powers, he's weak. If he's as strong as you say, he should be beating Espadas without his Vizard powers.
