I don't see Naruto beating Pain. Then I realized...

Isn't Sasuke and the rest of Hawk ALSO on their way to Konoha? As in, maybe Sasuke shows up, and won't let Pain destroy Konoha as that is what HE wanted to do?

I'd like to see a Mangekyou vs. Rinnegan battle for realz.

I think Sasuke will get EMS before he comes back to Konoha. Madara has Itachi's eyes stored somewhere or something.

Honestly, I think it's more likely that Konoha will fight Pain and defeat a number of his dudes until all the named Konoha citizens are OOM and shit, then Naruto flies out of no where, goes HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!, his hair goes all wild, then he says KAAH, MEEH!, HAA!, MEEH!, HHAAAAAAA!!! and shoots out a rasenshuriken at fat pain which asplodes him.

It also makes sense that Sasuki will show up to fill in a "Vegeta" type role where he'll try to strut his stuff against Frieza..er no Pein, get his ass beat then with all things looking bad, Gok..er Naruto will show up, have a few words with Sasuke just before dies and proceed to SS against Pein.

Sasuke won't be dead for long as he'll get rezzed by the dragon balls.

Spoilers for 421:

Village begins to evacuate, Tsunade argues with Elders, tells them Naruto is coming back no matter what.
Kakashi continues to be useless against Pain.
Messenger frog (sent to get Naruto) is killed by Danzou before he leaves, probably because he wants Pain to fuck up the village.

Nice to see him doing something with Danzou. I half expected to see that aspect of the plot written off or something since we hadn't heard/seen anything from Root in awhile.

I think it's possible that Naruto will show up first and get his ass handed to him by Pein. As Pein is about to destroy/capture Naruto, Sasuke will show up and rescue Naruto by defeating Pein. Naruto thinks Sasuke is back to normal but is betrayed when Sasuke kills Kakashi or Tsunade.

That would be cool, but a little too much even if Kishimoto is a Sasuke fanboy (but hey, so am I). More likely scenario, Sasuke shows up and the chapter ends with the audience and Naruto thinking he is there to help. Instead, he aids Pein in taking Konoha. If he kills Tsunade or someone during this time, all the better.

I don't think Sasuke can beat Pein, otherwise your scenario sounds pretty fun.

I'd be cool if Naruto got all pissed and went all Nine tails on the bad guys but at the same time using his Sage mode to control it.

Or is that too SS 3 and we're not quite request for SS 1 yet?
