Now back to the topic in hand... I totally agree that Itachi can be trashed here and not completely ruin the manga but I'd still be surprised if it happens. Sasuke would be almost too strong, unless they start making naruto stronger a lot faster. Kind of like his first training sessions with jiraiya and to a lesser degree the Kage-Bunshin rasengan training with Kakashi/Yamato.

free power ups is not the way to go. I was hoping shippuden would revive the series but not... all the fights were so boring and then kage bunshin training ruined the whole series for me. he fights the same but instead of making naruto do crazy things, they dumb down the enemies naruto fights.

example: the akatsuki guy with 5 hearts. wtf? he just expects naruto to be straight forward and not expect him to go from behind? is this not the guy that fought toe to toe with the 3rd hokage and live to tell the tale? there's a team of ninjas fighting him including kakashi but they got trashed. naruto comes and kills him in 2 chapters. the whole fight was just not satisfying. the thing that pissed me off the most is when yamato said naruto is different. wtf. why cant he do shit like everyone else? shikamaru, chouji, neji, shino, sasuke, gaara, etc are so much more interesting than naruto.

i was also about 13458829fd33asdfsadf times more interested in watching Team Gai fight. I also wanted to watch Gai VS kisame and not same old sharingan vs sharingan. the last part showing gai owning the kisame clone was more satisfying than anything i've seen up to that part

i have to say, the peak of the anime/manga is when naruto fought neji and won. he fought tactically and was believable. in fact, the end of the fight surprised me so much.

I predict that Itachi will be killed by Sasuke, Sasuke will steal his eyes and will go on to fight Madara. Sasuke's ulimate goal is to revive his clan but I predict he will be killed.

If he does revive his clan he will have to first deal with the inevitability of the corruption of the sharingan eyes.

I would have to agree that this was Naruto's best fight, with the following fight vs. Gaara the second. We can only hope that Jiraiya's death will do...something positive to Naruto.

ok i'm pretty excited about the next chapter. its most likely the conclusion to the fight.

like i said, short fight. not too exciting though (other than the pwn eye technique)

what i really want to happen is to have one eye plucked from sasuke. Then somehow kakashi will appear and save him. kakashi dies (because he's a fucking useless bum) and before he dies, he'll give sasuke his eye like what obito did before his death. this will further anger sasuke and then makes him go nuts with the time/space mangekyou. ppl show up and see kakashi dead. naruto will think sasuke killed kakashi and swears vengeance. sasuke beats the shit out of naruto and leaves. instead of saving sasuke, naruto will now want to keel him. now both kakashi and jiraiya is dead and naruto is depressed. Gai offers to train naruto and he accepts it. after training with gai, naruto will finally fight like a normal person. i fucking hate it when naruto fights someone post shippuden. its boring and linear. then they get dumbed down like blizzard nerfing kael cuz noobs can't beat him (like the 4 heart akatsuki dude, which imo is just as bad as rukia beating the 9th espada in bleach. at least rukia can suck good cock)

Interesting chapter, still slightly disappointed with the shuriken trickery being a key component of Sasuke's attack, but nevertheless it was pretty good. I think the one frame that showed how Itachi sees Sasuke after the tsukiyomi attack failed is very telling of how far along Itachi's eyes are in the decay process. I'm def. predicting that Sasuke wins and Itachi dies soon, no eyeball theft for Sasuke.

I don't think they're gonna whack Kakashi, he's one of the most popular characters in the manga on most polls about that kind of thing tends not to happen in shonen. I mean hell, look at DBZ hah. People die all the fucking time but they're never gone for good.

From the current progress of the fight, I'd almost say that Sasuke is just gonna use his weaker jutsu shit with "more skill" than Itachi and he's gonna overcome his weakened brother's attacks. All sasuke really has to do is survive the Amaterasu (I seriously keep reading it as Amaretsu, wtf.) and if it's still the intensely massive drain that it was when Itachi used it to escape Jiraiya's toad insides prison deal, it's game over.

I could imagine Sasuke taking Itachi's eyes, and then he starts going batshit crazy from Sasuke/Orochimaru/Itachi personalities.

Neat trick, both are out of Chakra now so it's basically up to see what Sasuke's gonna do next chapter. Honestly, not the most interesting of chapters, amaterasu doing it's thing was great and all, but it's a little silly that the ultimate mangekyo jutsu deal is fooled by one of orochimaru's tricks. Oh well, looks like next issue is the finale of the sasuke/itachi fight hopefully.

A little silly? Sasuke learned how to perform the jutsu in absolutely no time so it seems pretty badass to me. Remember that Orochimaru was in Akatsuki as well so he probably knows some if not all of the abilities of the members and designed some jutsu to go against those or at least be resistant to them. Also note that it was a perfect counter because Itachi is starting to go blind, so obviously he won't be able to catch everything Sasuke does. Sasuke learning Orochimaru's jutsu by absorbing him is pretty high as far as ability goes. Give him some credit :P

And no, I am not a Emo-Sasuke-Lover. I do recognize a badass when I see one though.

Only reason I think it's silly is that Orochimaru was trying to get ahold of sasuke almost for the exact reason of attaining mangekyo/sharingan powers, and it turns out that orochimaru's techniques are counters to them anyway. Don't get me wrong, Sasuke is a badass and Itachi would be more badass if he wasn't desperate for Sasuke's eyeballs. I just found it a little funny that Oro's tech beat the best that Mangekyo has to offer, especially since if I remember right Itachi talked smack about Oro being weak awhile back. Could just be a testament to how Sasuke has grown or how Itachi is weaker now, but I still find it a little funny.

I'm really hoping it gets resolved next chapter, and Itachi doesn't pull something else out of his bag of tricks and Sasuke can finish that storyline up. I -really- enjoyed the storyline when they were all working together. Even though I like the divergence since then a lot, I'd like to see Sasuke/Naruto/Sakura on the same side again.
