I'd say the blog entry in Jordan's own blog is a little more authoritative than wiki for one thing. I mentioned that it was suspicious that none of the usual geek news sites have mentioned it yet. No reason to doubt the blog posting though, though I suppose you could doubt that too.

I'm torn between sadness for the death of an author and (probably) a good person, and anger for being dragged through books 7 - 11 and only now finding out that the series will never be completed
