| The Realm of Algebra by Isaac Asimov Lately I've been wanting to brush up on my elementary math. I've heard good things about this book- unfortunately I can't seem to find it anywhere. Amazon has it on sale used for $50(~150 pages, paperback). I don't mind buying it, but I would like to read a chapter or two before plunking down the cash. Has anyone read this book? How did you like it? |

| Since no one has heard of this book.... Can anyone recommend a book for developing a good foundation for mathematics- specifically applied to the realm of computer science? I really want to start at the bottom and work my way up. I'm not a total novice but sometimes I get the feeling I learned math the wrong way early on. Basically I want to learn new paradigms of mathematical thought (if that makes sense) that I can build on. Thanks in advance. |

+32 Internets | I haven't read this book, but I would love to. Asimov was a brilliant writer and published many solid books in every category of the dewey decimal system. I wouldn't hesitate to get it. If you don't like it, I'll personally buy it from you, guaranteed.
