I'd find this amusing if I wasn't expecting the exact same thing to happen.

I quess that would only make it as dissapointing as Civil War.

They're sort of boned; I mean really what can they do? They can't kill off the Illuminati and at best, the Hulk can humiliate them.

These days, the things I look forward to the most are whatever Garth Ennis and Warren Ellis are doing, and the current Green Lantern run with the Sinestro Corps. It's amusing to no end that DC's big countdown event is a turd and that GL Corps and GL are featuring an awesome story, that has so much more in terms of possible ramifications for the DCU. Same goes for Annihilation at Marvel, great space based story that's more enjoyable than the current mainstream books.

Last panel of the last Punisher MAX book was fucking great. I love this book, it's so bleak and full of despair. Even when Frank is winning, everyone is losing and each arc brings us some new villian who manages to be more vile than the last. That slavers arc has been my favorite so far. So far the best sequence in the book is a dream sequence with Frank roaming NYC and the streets are piled high with dead criminals as someone calls his name. He turns to see the silhouettes of his family - only to hear his wife say "Frank, we're still dead."

Y: The Last Man issue 59 came out this week. It said it was the conclusion of the arc which was supposed to be the last one, but I had heard there were supposed to be 60 issues. Anyone know anything about this? Luckily this has been coming out only every other month for the last few so I don't quite have to quit cold turkey.

Also, there was a Punisher MAX annual that was a pretty good read, and Fables has been pretty solid over the last few months.

Countdown to Final Crisis is just so damned awful.

I also feel that the amount of time between World War Hulk 4 and 5 is really killing the momentum. There was this big push with lots of tie ins that have now trickled off and the wait is greater than a month to finish it up.

Would be swell if that Lost writer douche would finish the fucking thing up. Or did he finally and I just missed it in the past month?

wierd that they have had this many delays. Still one of the best reads

" it was announced in mid-November 2006 that the third issue of the series had been officially canceled until all of the remaining issues of the mini series are completed. Recently announced at the San Diego Comic Con, the final issues of this series are due sometime in 2008. As of October 2007, no additional issues have been solicited for this series."

PC World - Marvel Comics Launches Digital Archive

Marvel Comics Launches Digital Archive
Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited allows online access to comic books and graphic novels for $5 per month.

Tuesday, November 13, 2007 9:00 AM PST

Marvel Comics on Tuesday announce the launch of Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited. The new service is Mac and PC compatible and is priced starting at $4.99 per month. Users can also check out 250 free samples.

The service provides users with access to classics like the first issues of The Amazing Spider-Man, The X-Men, Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four and others, along with newer likes like New Avengers and Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men. Marvel counts 2,500 comic books at launch, and plans to add at least 20 additional titles weekly.

Each digital comic has been remastered for distribution online, according to Marvel. The company has re-colored an re-digitized select content.

Unlike a music-based service that lets you download content, Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited is all online. All you need to access the content, beside a subscription, is a Web browser with Adobe Flash Player 6.0 or higher installed.

Users can search the site by character, writer, illustrator, book title, mini-series or date of publication. They can also provide feedback and ratings for other readers, and build personal reading lists that can be shared with other members.

Honestly that's a great idea, and long overdue. I may subscribe even though I can count the Marvel comics I like that aren't on MAX or Icon on one hand (with three fingers missing). The catch for me will be how well their interface works--I really hope it's at least as functional as CDisplay, and even that sucks compared to ComicRack, otherwise they might as well have not bothered.

DC -- your turn.

Considering that both Marvel and DC are cracking down on comics downloads, yeah, its a good thing. I like viewing comics on my PC, it saves space.
