+19 Internets | Horror novels Not really looking for recommendations, but again I am starting a thread to share my book collection of what I feel are great books. For those who haven't been introduced to him yet, I present: Richard Laymon His books are quite realistic thriller/horror with a touch of supernatural wickedness. A lot of them have the women portrayed as strong while the guys are usually scared and weak. I am now reading my collection of his over again and I'm sure I will do it again and again. You will understand what I'm talking about if you just listen to me and read his stuff. The books I recommend in the order of my personal favorites:
Next up, is a friend of Laymon, his name is Edward Lee. His books deal with more evil supernatural events than Laymon. I've only read a couple of his books, but they're great reads. If you bother to notice, he does tie his books together with little subtle lines, which I really enjoy.
He is coming out with a 3rd part to the Infernal series, which is due out this year. |

| Look into Final Victim by Stephen Cannell. It isn't quite "horror" per se but has a serial killer hacking up people and was deep into death metal. Really good read. Think Red Dragon but with no censors. |

| World War Z by Max Brooks Probably one of the best zombie stories I have ever had the pleasure to read/watch or listen. The audio version of this book has some pretty interesting cast members. I highly recommend reading it though as some of the stories that really make the novel insteresting seem to be missing. |

| If you're interested in more madness centric horror, check out The King in Yellow. It's loosely related stories, that have that "cosmic horror" feel to them. If you can get into it, you might not be scared, but really creeped out. Maybe not for everyone, but IMO, worth a read, very different, more in line with the old Lovecraft stuff.
