| Dragonlance series question Love these books, but I havent read one in a long time. Figure it's been a few years and I'm sure some new stuff has come out. The last books I read was the "War of Souls" trilogy, I've also read all the books written by Weis and Hickman prior to this. Has there been any progression in the timeline beyond this point? I've been looking around but there's so many damn spinoffs and sidestories that it's difficult to find the next logical books to read beyond this trilogy. Between semesters I want to find a few of these for some easy reading...that time is now! FYI, I've already read all the "major" books such as chronicles, test of twins, etc..

| Not very helpful though... After "War of Souls" WotC switched it up and moved away from the one big story arc/minor secondary books and towards a system where this generation of trilogies kind of effects everything, but isn't that big giant book. They are all subpar, even for DL. Weis is doing a trilogy about Mina after the War of Souls (with evil sex zombies), Thompson and whatshername are doing one on the elves, Niles is working on one about Solamnia, and Knaak finished his minotaur (not Knaak!) trilogy already. The one guy that is kicking ass in DL, is Chris Pierson. His Kingpriest Trilogy was the best stuff since the Legends and while I'm waiting on all the trilogy to come out, his Taladas Trilogy is suppose to be great too. Those would be the books to get if I were you. (under all circimsatances stay away from: Prisoner of Haven, Wizard's Conclave, the Lake of Death, and Saving Solace x 10) Also, Weis and Hickman just started a new prequal trilogy called the Lost Chronicles. First book is out, called "Dragons of Dwarven Depths".

| As in Richard Knaak? Of Warcraft novels fame? I last read the dragonlance books in high school in the mid-80's so I don't really remember too many details but I don't recall Weis and Hickman being that bad. Well, at least not warcraft novels Knaak bad... |

| Raistlin is the coolest name of any books to date. I read the original trilogy along with Dragons of Summer flame as well as the Twins trilogy. I enjoyed both sets but I was much younger. Off the top of my head I remember Raistlin Tanis Caramon Tifa Tasslehoff Strom. Shit I cant remember the 2 chicks that Tanis banged. Oh well, at least the art of those books rocked. Chicks were hot from what I remember as a young lad. |

| Oh I didn't mean to imply that weis and hickman were bad... it's just that I've read Richard Knaak and HE doesn't seem like the best choice for carrying the torch. I enjoyed DL well enough, never got too invested in the series or the game though so I never got much farther than the first series. |

Hopefully the 3rd book ties up alot of these questions on the splintering of the Knighthood. Overall theres...219? DL novels(of which I've read 188...because I'm a loser), if you like the setting, theres so many choices for reading material, its staggering. And well I agree that some of the novels are of low quality, they are still very enjoyable reads in context of the setting.

+12 Internets | I have about 60 dragonlance books. I don't know anything past the "2nd cataclysm", just the sorta "first and second" generation books. But yeah, I read all that shit back in the day. loved it all. |

| I really hated amber and ashes too(Mina reminds me of EveryCamWhoreUSA)... But if you've read the first one, least read amber and iron, you'll like it more, and it has alot of major world plot developments. (or if you wanna save $7 I can just spoil it in a PM)
