House of Leaves

Finished it and still kinda lost. Good book though.

Anyone else read this and get a good understanding.

I dont know if understanding is what is required.

My take on it was it was about the mazes we twist ourselves into in our lives and the bad things we can do. The 'house' being a metaphor for our minds.

/shrug .. it was an enjoyable read but I didn't feel it needed an overabundance of analysis.

There are multiple ways of interpreting what is going on in the book.

After reading this monstrousity I have one thing to say...

I want my time back. Lots of commitment to finish this beast and LOW LOW LOW payoff.

I gave up on it after getting to page 100 or so. It was recommended to me as one of the scariest books of the past couple of years, but I just couldn't get past the self-indulgent prose to enjoy the story.

I'm on about page 60, and I'm really, really enjoying it. Very unique writing style.
