Just finished House of Chains last night. That whole final sequence was money.

Should I start Midnight Tides now, or wait until my copy of Night of Knives comes in?

Knight of Knives is set before most of the main story arc. You can start MT

I would read Night of Knives before The Bonehunters.

I finally got hold of a copy of Gardens of the Moon and I have to say that even though I am still in the beginning of the book I have developed a passionate hatred of Laseen/Surly.

After reading all of the other Books up to Reapers Gale you always hear a lot of references and see some results of her actions, which of course would piss me off, however reading this book with the foreknowledge of what will come really gets to me.

Just wanted to say...

Just got my copy of Toll the Hounds, and Amazon UK shipped it in this flimsy cardboard envelope thing. The damn book is all busted up from the shipping. Pretty much bullshit.

For those of you have ordered the custom printed / signed hardcopy of "Gardens of the Moon" from Subterranean Press...here is the latest update as of 7/5/08.

Hi.

I've seen a lot more of the art, and should be getting a fuller update from the artist in the coming week. I certainly hope we're in the homestretch, as no one expected it to take this long. The book, however, is going to be gorgeous.

Best,

Bill
It still kind of sucks that a book scheduled for release in early 2008 has taken this long--but I'm excited to see all the custom artwork (and to have a signed, limited edition Erikson book).

Well if you remember, some of that stuff was retconned later on...

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Tayschrenn later claims that the aim was in fact to keep the Bridgeburners away from the action, and the mine collapse wasn't intentional, presumably so they would be able to join with Dujek's 'rebellion' in believable fashion. The stupid part being why Whiskeyjack wasn't in the loop to begin with.

Then there was the whole weird five way battle among Tay + the God posing as a cadre mage + Rake + uhh puppet guy + the oblivious cadre mages like fatty. None of that shit made any sense for a good while, and just looked like Tay (and thus Laseen) were out to kill everyone. And that's probably what the author intended at the time, until he changed it later.

Laseen's current situation is pretty fucked. Surrounded by traitors, no control over the Claw, and now no army. Nice going Pearl.

I always felt that was retconned, but I figured I missed something. When the series is finished I intend to re-read it to try and understand these inconsistencies.

which god was posing as which cadre mage? You mention the other two(Hairlock and Tattersail), so that would only leave Tattersail's lover, can't remember his name. Definitely don't remember him being a God.
