| Things I'm anticipating the most about these series at the end of book 6: Icarium vs Karsa vs Rhulad. Finding out what the hell K'Chain Che'Malle were doing in the Imperial Warren and where they came from. Mappo skullfucking Talarack Veed with his mace. You know it's gonna happen. More Cotillon and Shadowthrone, Cotillon became one of my favourite characters during book 6. Learning more about the Seguleh, Spite & Envy and, most of all, prince K'azz his Avowed and Iron Bars. Oh and I'm really wondering where Fear went. I also hope that we'll see more of Bugg and Tehol, every chapter with them was fantastic, these characters play off each other perfectly. I can't wait for book 7, I really can't. Last edited by Kildace; 12-11-2006 at 06:34 PM.. |

| Almost done with the 3rd book now, and I have to say this is the best fantasy series I've ever read, including ASoIaF. The way all the characters play off each other during conversations is nothing short of genius. This series is so bonerific. Anybody who likes Martin really needs to check out this series, it's simply amazing. |

| Personally, I just started with Gardens of the Moon, and went from there. I've only read Erikson, I haven't checked out the other guy yet. From what I gather, you don't have to read the other author, but I will probably check it out later, since the main series is so damn good. |

+20 Internets | Just finished book 2 no more than 5 minutes ago. God damn the last 200 or so pages (if you've read it you know what I'm talking about) were intense. This series is full to the brim of bad asses. I can't wait to read the rest of this series. |

| used to cyber with Wendolyn and Hobben | Well you guys definitely caught my attention. Looks like this is what I've been searching for, amazing I haven't read about it before. Ordering them next month I guess, just finishing up "American Gods" and then I'll postpone "Night Watch" and go for this. I loved ASoIaF a lot, and I don't want to critize it at all, but I definitely wanted some fantasy with a lot more magic in it. Sorta like EQ/WoW/whatever on books, if you catch my drift. Ie. where magic is more trivial.

| I had to order the last 2 books and 2 novellas on Amazon. Wasn't too bad for hardcovers. Thing is Book 5 (Midnight Tides) has been in print since 2004 and has yet to find a lot of traction in the US. I saw it on a Borders shelf when I picked up book3, but I haven't seen it since. Amazon was fairly quick though--although the Malazan books were my first big order from Amazon so admittedly I don't have much to compare it to---took 3 days for IIRC. I didn't have to do much of a song and dance to have Amazon to cough it up either, like others had to do with Amazon.ca. I had no problems picking up books 1 through 4 off the shelf in Borders though. Last edited by Khorum; 12-28-2006 at 12:32 PM.. |

| Books 1 through 4 are released here in the US, you should be able to find the mass market or oversized paperback editions no problem, and you can even stumble across the hardback versions in the remaindered section of your bookstore occasionally, which is a good deal. You can also get them super cheap from the US Amazon site no problem. For Books 5 and 6 (Midnight Tides and The Bonehunters), the prequel novella by Esslemont (Night of Knives), and the two side story novellas (Blood Follows and The Healthy Dead) you will most likely need to resort to either the Canadian or British Amazon sites (Amazon.ca: Online shopping for Canadians - books, music, DVDs, software, video games & more or www.amazon.co.uk). Personally I ordered Books 5 and 6 and all the novellas at once from the British Amazon site and got them all within a week no problem for only a little extra shipping. For the best value I would suggest waiting until April 2007 to order any of the British released books. The next side story novella (The Lees of Laughter's End), the revised and updated prequel novella (the hardcover mainstream release of Night of Knives), the mass market paperback version of Book 6, and the hardcover and oversized paperback release of Book 7 (Reaper's Gale) will all be released by then. |

+3 Internets | I used Canada, just ordered book 5 and 6, was like a little over 30 bucks and it got back to me within 3 days. If you are going to wait it out for the US launch, book 5 is coming in April.
