| The Coldfire Trilogy We have any Coldfire fans here? This is one of my favorite fantasy series because its darker then your average fantasy novel and I find I enjoy my fantasy a little more serious. I havnt read them in a few years but I would HIGHLY recommend you taking a look at them if you havnt already. Warning: The wiki site has some spoilers on it at the bottom so dont read them if you havnt read the books. It links all 3 of them though for anyone wanting their titles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coldfire_Trilogy |

| I really enjoyed the series also. This was the first series of books I read that really got me into reading more series over the year. Before that it was mostly single volume books here and there. It's been so long since I read this I should check out taht wiki link and freshen up some. |

+2 Internets | Really liked the series. Tarrant is the second/third best anti-hero I've read to date(behind Sandor Clegane and maybe Jaime Lannister in I&F). I liked the characterization of the "gods" and how magic worked. I'm a sucker for books where the gods are not larger than life, like Weis and Hickman's Rose of the Prophet series, or any of David Edding's trilogies. If you liked Friedman's writing style I'd suggest checking out The Madness Season. Only other book of hers I've read and I enjoyed it. Sci Fi and pretty interesting. edit: Said Gregor where I meant Sandor.

| I've read the series twice now and I thoroughly enjoyed it both times. My only complaint would be the lack of violence in some parts. I know that sounds kinda dumb it Friedman seemed to make it a point to avoid violent resolution in situations where I thought it would have fit so perfectly. I respect her style though. I read the first book in 2 days I liked it so much. The whole background story in the book was just amazing for me. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the 2nd and 3rd books afterwards.

+1 Internets | Amazing books, amazing story, amazing characters. I've only cried twice while reading a book that made me cry and i am not ashamed to admit it. First one was the ending of the Chain of Dogs march in Steven Erickson Malazan book number 2. And the second time was that wonderfull "Some things are worth dying for" way that the second Coldfire Trilogy book ends in. Altho the Red Wedding from ASOIAF came really close to beeing third.
