The author of Ender's Game, Orson Scott Card, just came out with a book called Empire. It's about a near-future American civil war and he's posted the first four chapters of the book online. I haven't had a chance to pick it up yet, but I've loved all of his books so I'm quite excited.

Anyone read it yet?
