| I once read a resident evil book and it was awful, felt like I was reading a walkthrough to a game, lets split up here / where is the key to this door ... Maybe this ruined the zombie virus genre for me. |

| Audio Version I hate to bump a very old thread, but the original post is very light on information about this... Note I am about a third of the way through the Audio book, and I plan to purchase the standard book as well. The setting is around 12 years after the Zombie menace has been defeated, and the reporter Max Brooks has travelled the world seeking out the cold hard facts of what actually happened, plus along the way he interviews people and records each persons experiences as well. The book is very similar to the whole concept of "War of the Worlds" (original movie), except it tells the story of many individuals at different points of World War Z, who are so far totally unconected to each other. The book explores the initial outbreaks, governments attempting to cover these outbreaks up, people’s disbelief of "zombies" and so on. This is not a B grade Zombie book, full of "I will wander off alone in the dark" moments or slasher scenes. But a more serious attempt to tell a story that has zombies in it. Anyways, below is a link to the homepage for this, it has some audio samples on it that you can try out if interested. World War Z |

+3 Internets | I've read the paperback version and would also urge almost anyone to give this book a try. Some excellent writing here and there make certain sections very moving. I was very pleased to read recently the book has been optioned for a film, if they do it as per the book it could be a surprise critical smash! |

| I agree with Resident Evil being a shit book. I bought it along time ago the first in the series and put it down after 2 chapter. But I beg ya to read world war Z and zombie survival guide. Great books, and well written I think.
