+12 Internets | Interesting Times, where Rincewind gets sent to the Discworld's orient equivalent and joins up with Cohen the Barbarian(or in this book, Ghengis Cohen) and his Silver Horde and overthrows the emperor. Good shits=) Or it could be the short novel The Last Hero, which I have not read yet. Same band of people.

+1 Internets | Just started reading these, Pratchett is a complete Genious lol, on the second book and just cannot put it down. Shame hes got alzheimer's, although that might mean he writes more books about his first character Rincewind. |

| I'm a huge fan of Pratchett's, the man writes satire like no one else. I hope that his health and mental capacities do not deteriorate quickly. The last few books of his, von Lipwig books and Thud! were to me less enjoyable, less polished. While I'd love to read more Pratchett, I'd never want to see him become Barbara Cartland of fantasy. ![]() |

| I loved all of his books. Even though some were not as good as others if you take those and compare then to other fantasy series they will completely outshine them IMO. The standard he set for fantasy, creative writing, and humor is so high its hard for him to reach it all the time. It's so good you'll be hard pressed to find a satirical series up to par for quite a while after your done. (If anyone knows satirical books or series up to par by all means post them)

| I just started reading the series. Never read it before, which is strange because I've read pretty much every other HF classics (even read the all the fucking Forgotten Realms books, even the worst ones). Anyway, I like it a lot, and if the first book is the worst, then I might have just found my favorite series ever (not including Foundation) if it doesn't get old.

+1 Internets | How would people recommend to read the Discworld books, in published order or following character storylines and arcs like the picture below. Im only on the second book and tempted to carry on the Rincewind character a bit before moving onto Equal Rites. |

+12 Internets | I read most of the City Watch and Witches books, then the rest in published order. Roughly. Not 100%, so I wouldn't sweat the order too much. If you like Rincewind, read all his books then finish up.

+1 Internets | Yeah thats pretty much what i was thinking, although if a story is closely linked (Colour of Magic -> Light Fantastic) then id prefer to read them in some kind of order, Cohans Hemorrhoid ring on his horses mount was classic, actually laughed out loud while listening to it on audiobook in the office instead of working. |
