Plenty of straight people sound queer. Not all gays men talk like a fag. One of my neighbors is gay, I about had a stroke laughing as he told me he was gay but not a fag explaining the difference.

Given that homosexuality is prevalent among animals, too, I'd expect a genetic link of some sort. I doubt they're all influenced by pop culture... however, I doubt it's genetics alone - too simple, as things are usually affected by multiple variables.

Just like straight men and women will hang out where the straight women and men are, respectively...gays hang out where the gays are. Since they all hang out in similar places, they tend to share similar cultural traits, just as any group of people that hang out together would share.

No, I'm not saying gays exclusively hang out with gays. Nor am I saying that straight people don't hang out with gays, or whatever other "generality stretched into a rule" crap you people want to fling.

As a single straight male, I spend my weekend time in places where single straight females hang out. I would assume that single gay males hang out where the single gay males hang out. My time with single straight females has colored the way I act in many ways. I want to appeals to them womens. I would assume gay men do similar things.

In short: it's cultural as much as anything else. Yes, I know there are effeminate straight men. A good friend of mine is extremely effeminate and has an extremely hot girlfriend. But he's effeminate due to culture. His dad is effeminate, both his parents are big time yoga/alternative medicine/hippie folk, and he's heavy into a yoga culture that is primarily female.

i dont think id have nearly as much a problem with gay guys and women if they still acted like their proper gender. i dont get the whole sissy and butch act. guys that lisp and dress up as popculture divas is as disgusting as chicks who dress like construction workers and talk with low deep voices. if that shit isnt a psychological fuckup i dont know what is.
