Just so people know.. the reason that those two people were arrested was that they created an incentive program that gave bonuses to people that registered 20 or more people. That's the crime there, for what it is. Quote:

+19 Internets | In high school I had the same quotas for pawning lines of credit on customers at Target, and my grad school room mate had similar requirements for new accounts at E-Trade. Apparently it's perfectly fine to set quotas to push credit onto 19 year olds, but it's not okay to have an incentive program for voter registration. |

Not a single person is in here saying ACORN did nothing wrong. You said that. What we are saying is so the fuck what? It doesn't make that big a deal that an organization has a couple(or quite a bit) of retard in it. Let's apply your logic to another organization. Hmmm, let's see, how about the United States Armed Forces. Should we shut them down because of the systemic problems with abuse, suicide, corruption and law-breaking that goes on? Now remember Astro, based on your line of thinking, if you try to deny that, you are basically saying that the military does nothing wrong ever, so choose your words wisely (lol). | |

+5 Internets | Needless organization? Tell that to those making minimum wage or those who are no longer discriminated by banks simply due to their zip code. In the mid‐1970s, ACORN’s St. Louis chapter began a campaign against “redlining,” the banking practice of denying mortgage loans to predominantly minority neighborhoods, even to potential borrowers with sufficient income to pay back the loan. ACORN has played a leading role in building the “livingwage” movement, working with unions, faith‐based groups, and other community and civil rights organizations to help lift the working poor out of poverty. Two decades ago, the concept of a living wage was a radical idea. Today, it is part of the mainstream public debate. The movement was spurred by Congress’s failure to raise the national minimum wage for almost ten years (after raising it to $5.15 an hour in 1997). The momentum for change was also catalyzed by the proliferation of low‐wage jobs, and by city governments’ efforts to contract public services to private firms paying lower wages and benefits that prevail in the public sector. Most Americans now agree that people working full‐time should not be trapped in poverty. |

+167 Internets | No what I want is for people like you to apply your logic across all boards, at all times and stay fucking consistent. If you are this angry I can't imagine how pissed you must be at DynCorp, Blackwater or KBR. I bet your rage for them is so seething you have to stay medicated just to control the rage. But we both know that's not true is it Astro? You get selectively angry about things that go against your worldview and choose to simply ignore everything else. |

+2 Internets | This whole ACORN shit is funny because its just a big distraction meant to get people angry and oppose anything labeled "Obama" (cause ACORN=Obama right?). Its like a magician waving his right hand in your face so you don't pay attention to what hes doing with his left hand. Obviously the people caught in these videos are dumbfucks and they've been fired, funding has been cut, and so on. Continuing to wail on this dead horse for weeks on end really doesn't get us anywhere, and anyone who claims to love this country as much as Glenn Beck (tears version) does would let it go if they are sincere. |
