| No doubt evolution is fact but it still sucks that we came from a monkey. id like to think that the monkeys we see now are the lame monkeys and we came from uber monkeys that could get their shit together and populate the world with war and intelligence. the lame monkeys stayed in africa throwing shit at eachother and inventing AIDS. |

| Banned | "God invented the mechanism for a hands-off approach to creating life in evolution." Whoops, back to square one, Dawkins. Look, let them believe what they want; they're mostly benign, and the crazy ones will die out in a few generations. And what in the world are you going to do about the spiritual people who don't believe in God but still believe in other sorts of crazy shit? Ah man, irrationality bites. |

+217 Internets | Yeah I know, it's going to be much longer than a few generations however. But whats actually happening is that while more and more atheists are showing up, more and more moderate theists are turning batshit, evangelical as well. Eventually it is going to turn into two super polarized groups, with atheists/agnostics on one side, and evangelical/Wahhabi-ists on the other. |

+54 Internets | The distinction between macro-evolution and micro-evolution comes from creationists, since not even the most dense idiots can claim micro-evolution is in doubt. Small changes over millions of years = big changes. Quote:

+3 Internets | problem with religious folk is that they shut out anything they have already learned via religion. if god him self came down from the sky or what ever they expect him to do and told everyone the truth about everything there would be a large percent of religious people who would not believe it. for one, each person has a different idea about god, even between christians not to mention every other religion on earth has a different idea of god. if science could prove without a 100% doubt that all life evolved from a common ancestor the religious people would still refuse to. the point is faith is one thing and science is another. faith is the absolute belief in something with out reason. science is the the process of learning through reason. the only problem i have with religion is that FOR SOME FUCKED UP REASON ABSOLUTE BELIEF WITH OUT REASON HAS AN EFFECT ON REAL LIFE ISSUES. for fucks sake if you want to believe in magic and bull shit fine i know it gives weak people strength but at least acknowledge it has no part is rational thought. i look at devout religious people the same way i look at the mentally ill. no matter how much you reason with them it doesn't matter. yet the most stupid illogical thing on earth grabs their absolute attention. i hope in a 1000 years we can look at religion as the biggest set back in human progress and the closest thing to evil was the one entity that claimed to be the opposite of evil. |

| The only thing worse than people that outright deny evolution is people that try using science to disprove religion. Seriously, this is like intro level anthropology at your nearest community college. Pitting religion vs science is just as naive as claiming there is no evolution. |
