You don't get to hide, considering the massive amount of 'racist' 'nazi' and whatever else comments you toss out on a regular basis at anyone who isn't an obama nut hugging pinhead like yourself.

Yeah, the messenger is fair game if he's a tool.

Don't be silly guys, clearly the fact that America has more murders than most western nations and far, far more gun crimes than most western nations has nothing to do with the easy access to firearms. Compete coincidence.

I'm just glad I don't live somewhere where any angry disaffected lonely nutjob can go to the shopping centre, grab a gun and shoot up a room full of people.

So has anyone else watched this guys youtube videos? I keep reading that you can tell he's insane/a sociopath from them. But I'm not really seeing any unusual behavior besides his bitterness/cynicism.

Well that's it, he wasn't crazy beyond the normal everyday type of crazy that sets in after decades of depression and bitterness and loneliness.

Take the gun out of his hand and he would fit right in with the 4chan crowd or the more extreme end of the hardcore MMO playing crew (I guarantee you all know at least someone who comes to mind when you think about it).

Look, gun control is not black and white... Lets just say congress eliminates the 2nd amendment and America basically turns into the UK (yeah FML). I believe that would open the flood gates for the criminals that already have illegal weapons to use them against other citizens. The 2nd amendment isn't just about giving Bobby the Redneck a legal gun, its about defense, deterrence, and the right to defend you're property.

Yeah, this allows a person to have guns and possibly have a mental break down leading to him/her killing innocents. However, I believe if that individual did not have a gun he more than likely would of proceeded to kill innocents by other means.

I'm all for the 2nd Amendment, but you have to admit that some means are more efficient than others. I'm more afraid of a maniac with a rocket launcher than I am a maniac with an uzi, and more afraid of a maniac with an uzi than I am a maniac with a 9mm. I'm definitely more scared of a 9mm than a knife, a bat, or a broken bottle.

You need to talk to more crazy people then. I work at a bookstore, and we have quite a few crazy people who visit regularly. There are many different forms of crazy, and the guy in the video definitely had one of them. There are two guys who come into our store relatively often who act just like him. When you first meet them, they just seem a bit off, but after a while it becomes clear that there's really something wrong with them. Now that I've worked at the store for a while, I can pick out new crazy people before they complete their first sentence. It's surprising how many people look and act completely normal and then their word choice/tone/body language/etc during conversation gives them away.

I agree, a gun is probably the best spur of the moment weapon, but does it matter what a persons scared of? Not really when every weapon could lead to death when used with the element of surprise. So I say shoot at me with guns, try to stab me, because what I'm scared of is the ease of explosives. I would not be surprised if these domestic cowards start using explosives rather than guns.

Most likely he was a member of the NRA. Most NRA members are paranoid, bitter, and cynical. They mention phases like "Tyranny", "Oligarchy", "Socialism", and "Marxism" a lot. Also, they can relate to people like Michael Savage. This is a FBI profile of these types of people.

For me they are easy to spot. We have 2-3 on this board who make up the FOH Axis of Evil.

Dude, stop trying to use this guy to push the whole "right wing crazies" narrative, that's not what this is about. Yes, there's plenty of right wing extremists out there and they're more vocal since Obama was elected.

This guy wasn't one of them. He's just sad, lonely man who went off his rocker. He's got more in common with half the WoW playing population than he does with Michael Savage.

I refer any commentary on outlawing guns to a quote I think sums up my opinion.

"A well armed society is a polite society." --- Robert A. Heinlein.

When people have to think "one of those folks over there I really want to get mean and nasty to MIGHT be packing heat" it causes a good deal of rethinking.

In this case the guy was nuts and already accepting of his own demise in the process of this act. This makes him the exception, not the rule.

Actually, I say this because I have seen the effects of it. And I do, in fact, live in Texas. (Should have mentioned that probably)

Maybe you are so used to Texas that you don't know what it actually means to be polite. Ok let's try again.

See: Harlem.
