In his defense, carrying around uranium is no big deal when you can cure cancer.

Fuck yeah man, anything natural is good for ya. I mean, if it comes from nature, how can it not be good? That's why Lumie has been carrying around a rock of uranium in his pocket since 1987, because it's fucking good for you.
Are people born this stupid or is it a work in progress? I mean by this retards logic, NOTHING natural can be good for you since SOME natural things are not despite a shitload of scientific proof and oh ya...COMMON FUCKING SENSE. I mean gee I guess eating brocolli and carrots is not good for you since eating lead paint chips is not good for you either. How the fuck could I not see this! I mean lead is totally natural and therefor we can compare it to EVERY OTHER natural thing in terms of how healthy it is for you.

I'm not sure why you'd want to expose yourself to tons of radiation to synthesize Vitamin D when you can just take a supplement if you're that worried about it. You're not one of those idiots that thinks "natural" Vitamin D is somehow different or better than artificial Vitamin D, are you?
Like I said moron, if you are healthy...the "tons of radiation" is not even remotely bad for you. Why the fuck do you think healthy looking people generally look nice and tan and not like fucking casper.

As for natural vitamin D being better than artificial...when the fuck is artificial anything better than the natural version of it? Man can't do ANYTHING as good as God can as a general rule of thumb. Not to mention the source of things has a great effect on the quality of the product.

Quote:
Have you heard people laugh about Americans having the most expensive urine in the world? That’s because the vitamins most Americans take are synthetic, and 90% of synthetic vitamins pass through the body unabsorbed.

Dr. H. Dulay explains: “A synthetic vitamin or mineral is a laboratory simulation of a simple version of the real thing. In the plant, the vitamin/mineral lives with many other vitamins, minerals and nutrients - the “cofactors” the body needs to absorb and use it.

If the cofactors are missing, as they are in synthetic vitamins, the body steals them from its organs, bones, muscles and other tissue. That’s why taking synthetic vitamins/minerals over time can be harmful to your health. They deplete the body of other nutrients. For example, taking synthetic calcium regularly depletes the body of magnesium.

Multivitamins - blends of synthetic vitamins and minerals - don’t remedy this problem. The concentrations of the vitamins and minerals in the formulas are rarely those found naturally in the plant. And many of their cofactors are missing. Some haven’t even been discovered yet!

Synthetic vitamins are super-processed. They are usually manufactured at high temperatures and contain artificial or toxic ingredients, such as dyes, preservatives, coal tars, sugars, starch, and other additives. Kind of like paint or plastics.

Why would a manufacturer of health products do this? Aren’t they in business to help us improve our health? Well, marketing concerns often overtake nutritional goals. Extending shelf life, making products look or taste better, meeting machine requirements, and lowering manufacturing costs, usually take precedence over nutritional value. The resulting supplements become pretty useless to us. Some experts say that they might even be dangerous over time.”
Here are some interesting studies.

Quote:
#1. Study using synthetic beta carotene and Vitamin E halted. (reported in the New England Journal of Medicine, 1994) 29,000 male smokers were given synthetic beta carotene and synthetic Vitamin E. The study was stopped when rates of lung cancer, heart attacks and death increased.

#2. Birth defects increased for women on synthetic supplements (reported in the New England Journal of Medicine, 1995) 22,000 pregnant women were given synthetic Vitamin A. The study was halted because birth defects increased 400%.

I'm confused. What does all this have to do with the uranium rock in your pocket?

Back in the day only slaves got tan because they were laborers. Now when being a slave forces us indoors and we end up pasty and uncolored those people with the luxury of being outdoors are seen as the power holders with their spare time and/or cash.

When the two worlds collide, and you get some shriveled up witch who has a life so miserable they must tan, it's like dipping your balls in ice water while taking a blow dryer to your eyes.

And yea, whoever said being out in the sun an hour is worse than tanning for 15 minutes is retarded. tanning beds are not only far more UV because they're speeding up the "cooking your fucking skin" process, but that's also where most of the damage comes from at all.

I personally just paint myself black

I tan once a week for 12-15 minutes; usually during the summer up to early fall.

I've never burnt while tanning indoors but I have definitely been burnt by being outside in the sun in less than an hour.

One interesting thing from this new WHO statement will likely be to make it even more difficult for tanning bed providers/salons to secure insurance coverage for thier operations. Right now it is very expensive for business coverage for the places because of the cancer risk.

Now throw in this report by WHO and I bet alot more carriers will be jumping ship from covering that type of business activity.

People with absolutely no knowledge of or background in oncology really need to stay out of threads like this. For some reason people have this misconception that developing cancer is a simple case of cause and effect. You smoke therefore you get lung cancer. You use a tanning bed and you get melanoma.

Really?

The bottom line is there are hundreds if not thousands of potential factors (environment, genetic predisposition, etc.) that contribute to people developing certain types of cancer. There are plenty of people that are 70+ years old, have smoked every day of their lives and have no signs whatsoever of developing lung cancer. At the same time I have seen patients that are in their 40s and have never smoked before that are unfortunately diagnosed with it. It is the exact same with UV exposure. Melanoma, while potentially posing an increased risk from high ultraviolet radiation, is not exclusive to people who tan or spend large amounts of time in the sun.

To be clear I'm not advocating smoking, tanning, or any other activity that has shown to potentially increase risk of cancer. However, it is much more complex than a simple leap from A to B such as asserting that all people who tan will develop skin cancer. That really couldn't be more far from the truth.

Sorry I missed this quote earlier. I skip Loonie Lumie posts because I value my time.

Seriously, fuck you. Fair skin has nothing to do with health. I adore redheaded women, and one reason why I like them is because I love girls with fair skin. They are not sick or unhealthy. Some people cannot even tan at all, they just burn.

If anybody is sick, it's you.
