| The latest "Robodial" scam? Has anyone else gotten phone calls on your home/cell phones that have an automated voice saying something along the lines of: "Hello, we are looking for X person residing at Y address - if you are X person, please press 1, and if you are not please press 2" Pressing 2 results in them saying to please hold while they get someone. Upon getting a human being, I tell them to remove me from their list, and they say "You are not person X?" and I say "No." and then they say "oh ok, well...." and start selling their pitch. I think they are trying to get around laws by pretending to not wanting to contact you, but their motive is to still sell you on a product. I've gotten 4 of these calls - 3 on my home line and 1 on my work cell in the last month, all of which ask for different people residing at different addresses. Any one else getting these? |
