A ban, by definition, would mean permanent. Anything less is merely a suspension.

Can someone seriously answer my question though?

WTF is considered "starvation mode?" Is it a specific value or is it relative to your current weight?

When your body thinks you are starving and starts eating everything, fat and muscle, in order to survive. Which is why watching the scale during a diet is not an indication of healthy progress. Anorexics will see the scale drop, but it is not quality weight, and they are dying.

1500 calories is not starvation mode for a woman. It may not be ideal for everyone, but you aren't going to die.

edit: It isn't a specific #, no, but healthy adults should be roundabout the same.

I maxed on 300 and I weighed 150 in High School so yeah, it's definitely possible at least at that age.

Ok cool beans . So if I stay around there (1200-1500 intake; exercise 3x a week on top of that) I'm not fucking up my metabolism. I'm not what I would consider healthy; which is why I was asking.

I would stay 1500+ and watch the scale. There is no reason to start at the bottom of the barrell.

If you are eating 1500 calories a day and you lost 1-2lb or so over a 7 day period, why would you start at 1200?
