I've asked multiple past friends on multiple past occasions what they would do with a time machine (after asking myself such a question) and each and every one of their individual answers has been "use it to go back and play eq in 1999".

Your friends are mother fucking losers. Seriously. I played EQ too, and it was pretty cool for a while. But that right there, blows my fucking mind that there are people on Earth with that little imagination, that given the opportunity to do anything, ever, in history, they choose playing a 10 year old video game that they've already played.

Heath without a doubt if only for Batman sequels...

Jackson has been dead to me for at least a decade or possibly longer. He hasn't made any songs of note while Heath would have still been productive.

Or maybe to recapture that little bit of childhood that drives every parent to make the best life for their children they can?

You have no imagination if you interpreted that statement so literally.

At the end of the day it's playing a video game. There are a million other moments in life if people want to "recapture" something they've experienced in the past. Using your one shot to relive a great moment to go sit in front of a computer screen drinking diet soda, chain smoking and waiting for respawns...

No fuck that dude, it's sad. It's sad and I'm not going to humor you by pretending that it's not.

Well, Jacko's been dead since about 91 so we've been missing him a while. EQ99's only been gone 10 years, and it was pretty shitty really.

i was never a fan of MJ. i am 27 so i been around and old enough for most of his carrier. i just never cared for his style of music and honestly never seen the attraction to it. when they would say he sold 13 million records. i would just wonder who the hell was buying this.

Guiness book of world records has Thriller at 65 million copies sold worldwide.
I can understand why you didnt get MJ. 27 is not old enough to truly appreciate MJ's whole career. it started in the late 60s. The Jackson 5 was mega huge for more than half the 70s they even had a cartoon, then the "Can you feel it" single later on and then Michaels solo album Off The Wall in 79. Thriller was released at the end of 82 and an already world famous performer hit levels of stardom almost nobody in the world had experienced. that album was so huge he was still releasing singles until 1984.

that pepsi commercial where he got burned is what fucked his shit up. Bad sucked. Dangerous was pretty good. All the videos were always extremely well produced. you had to be there. yeah he became a fucking scary ass freak in the 90s til his death, but his earlier magic cant be denied.

Yes, EQ was a serious life sucker but i dont regret the ridiculous amounts of time i spent playing it at all. the only regret is that EQ became shitty starting with Luclin and destroying itself with the POEb cockblockery. I dunno if any game can ever match that feeling i got from logging in every day.

i think a lot of people who hated EQ were probably the people who didnt have the time or patience to devote to maxing their chars potential or happened to be the "losing" guild in the races to uber mobs.

i made friends with all the other hardcores who played day and night in places like LGuk, Sol B and Old Sebilis. those people formed a guild called Da`Kor and i was lucky to be with them in their heyday. we stepped on some toes, but that was the name of the game. least it was back in 99-2002.

Oh please, maybe 5 guilds total were affected by POEB cockblockery. 99% of the people who whined about it were posers who dedicated too much of their existence on idol worship of Furor and Tigole and never ever ran into the cockblock.

yes, i was in Magister one of the top 5 guilds being blocked, we were stuck for about 4 months, i was on the beta board for PoP and me and my GM was jerked around daily by the devs telling us the problem was on our end. it wasnt, they were just stalling.
