Yeah, we all say the same thing about OJ too.

Guess what? We all know he's guilty.

On the BBC when they were doing filler while it was unconfirmed they had some lady who basically said MJ was more important/influential/better artist then Elvis and I nearly shit myself. He had better spread due to technology but after Thriller and Bad what has he done worthwhile other then build an amusement park and screw kids? Elvis produced all his life, had shows till the week he died, created surf culture with his Hawaii movies.

MJ was indeed good. But I consider Prince a better musician.

Im not sure if he was more influential than Elvis but I could def see the argument being made. He changed the face of pop music. He changed music videos. He was prob the 1st black musician that America as a whole liked. My racist ass southern grandparents liked him. And he was huge around the entire world. I dont know much about Elvis but wasnt he more an American thing?

I agree that comparisons between Elvis and MJ are stupid, although you can't argue how much of an impact he made on music. Hell, MTV owes a part of it's existence to Michael Jackson. It's another one of those historic moments in time, especially if you are at least 30. Most will remember where they were when they heard MJ had died.

Was reading a blog and the guy rated it 4th in celebrity deaths. Ranking as follows:

1. Elvis
2. John Lennon
3. Princess Diana
4. Michael Jackson

BTW, he give number 5 to JFK jr.

MJ wasn't really a musician. He probably shouldn't have that qualification. There are tons of more "talented musicians" out there. Didn't Quincy Jones write all the music for MJ anyway? If we want to talk about strict musicianship skills, Prince blows MJ out of the water.

Elvis didnt write any songs either. id agree Prince is more gifted than MJ but MJ had an incredible string of hits attributed to him. Elvis is not just an american thing, he is fucking huge in other countries, hes considered Jesus in Japan. btw im no elvis fan.

MJ was a performer, and one of the best ever. But I don't think anyone with half a brain gives him any credit for the music/lyrics/choreography. I'd say that 99% of his music, the actual music and lyrics were written and finished before he even knew about them.

Elvis, I really don't know how big of a part he had in his music. At least the Beatles were musicians and some of them songwriters.

MJ JOKES:

Farrah Fawcett dies, St. Peter says she can make one request. She asks that all the children in the world be safe. So St. Peter kills Michael Jackson.

Since Michael Jackson is made of 99% plastic already, his body is being melted down and made into Lego's so that children can play with him for a change.

who would have thought that the near miss he had in that Pepsi commercial 25 years ago was just toying with him, biding its time til now to finally kill him. i think thats what drove him crazy, the trauma of being burned on his head made him a pain killer addict, a plastic surgery addict and reverted him permanently to child status cept for the times when he gets a boner and needs to "play" with other young boys.

Ahh this sucks. I certainly liked his music. After my folks divorced when I was a little kiddo me and my mom used to drive from sugar land to galveston and always had a michael jackson tape in the car (my mom loved his music).

I remember having nightmares of Thriller when I was a little kid too hah.

Really hurts when celebrities you've grown up with all your life pass, but alas it will happen to all of us every once in awhile.

See ya, MJ. You'll be missed.

I disagree. The whole molestation bit is going to be a footnote in his story forever. And rightfully so. It isn't "correct" to try and whitewash his memory (no pun intended), he should be remembered as is. I feel sorry for him, I can't imagine what must have happened to him when he was younger that turned him into a zombie pedophile. But let's not pretend that everything is just coincidence.
