i assume you know you can tilt it to type horizontally now...that has helped me a lot.

also, kind of a cool little trick to speed things up - if you need to go to the numbers/symbols page for only one thing, like a comma or period, if you put your finger on the ".?123" key and then drag to what you need and let go, the letters page pops back up.

Yeah, I'm getting much better. I also do wait for corrections but normally it will change to what I don't want, like it's turns into IRS and with my quirky left side it keeps caps lock on, so I have to reboot or "yell" at people.

The worst is really when you get one letter wrong and it doesn't correct it, or corrects it wrong, then you have to hold your finger on the screen and get to the place. Really just makes me miss the blackberry ball.

Basically communicating with the iphone sucks balls. But you sort of know that going in given how terrible all the IM programs are for it and no baseline support for it. It's a media device foremost.

Yeah tipping it horizontally helps but ever since that was introduced it takes forever for it to flip sometimes so I usually just do it vertically.

Two spaces also gives you a period if thats all you need.

Yeah, the detection on the flip I've found pretty abysmal. Sometimes I'm just leaning a bit in my chair and it rotates, other times I completely rotate it 90 degrees..and nothing happens.

MyWi - Rock Your Phone

I had a very similar app on my G1 that made sharing out my internet very easy. I'm just upset that someone wants to charge $10 for it when it was free on my G1.

Anyone know if there is any way to turn off the POS search page on the left hand side on the 3G S? (I'm not sure if it's there for other models/versions of the OS)

That crap is irritating to NO end.

Just picked up Myphone+ ($3). It imports pictures / contact information from your facebook page into your iphone. It works well and the manual search is easy to use. Plus it allows me to correct things in my phone. When I meet someone I'll put them in my phone as Hanna Hot when there real name is Hanna XYZ. Go into the app select Hanna XYZ from facebook and it'll update the last name information on the phone and add their profile picture. Pretty sick really.

Just so you realize the free blackberry facebook app does this. Does the free facebook app for iphone not?

I've noticed that after installing Winterboarder and using a fairly basic theme, I can occasionally get a little lag while exiting applications. If they are on page 2-4, I've tried to condition myself to just hit the Home button twice, and it should pop me back to my "main" page.

Sometimes it lags and I end up hitting it another time, then it goes to the search page that I've never once used and likely have no intentions of in the future. I also don't like that there is a dot (magnifying glass) next to my main screen. I know that's a little picky, but it just bugs me since I like things to be in order and straight.

Unless I've missed some option in there I don't see any way to do this through the free app. I know that it does this on the Palm Pre as well and wanted the same functionality.

Just tried to check through the Facebook app and found nothing for importing that type of information. I'll check around some of the other sites to see if I can find anything through Cydia/Icy and update this post.

Edit:

Attempted to find a "free" app, but it looks like one doesn't exist. Tried out both FriendSync and FriendsImporter, and found FriendSync to work at least passably well, though I really wish there was an option to mass push your Facebook friends to your phone. I can't be the only one who switched service providers and find it a complete pain in the ass to input every single contact again?

Maybe I'll give Myphone+ a try.
