I donated to the Stacks creator a long time ago and just recently got another email with an update. I now have zero springboard pages, with 4 stacks as a dock. Pretty fuckin' slick.

I also just bought an app off of Cydia called Universal Search - lets you search anything.. Yelp, GMaps, Twitter, Wikipedia.. all from your phone's spotlight.

Loving my phone atm.

o rly?

That actually sounds like a fucking badass. Any possible way to share the .deb file? I'd be interested in trying it out.

So recently I got a giftcard to the appstore. I've searched through most of this thread for the umpteenth time just to make sure there wasn't anything I had missed. By this point I'm good on games, so now I'm mostly looking for good utility / productivity type apps. Already got RSS / webpage savers, sports, weather, movie apps, etc. Any other gems worth mentioning that haven't been mentioned yet?

OH and I should mention, I have an ipod touch, not iphone, so phone apps obviously out of the question.

Didn't want to start a new thread...

Before the MMS update to the iPhone I had a hack that let me tether my phone and now it no longer works.

My question " Is it possible to tether without jailbreaking running the most recent iPhone software? "

Depends on the version of FW that you have. If you've upgraded to 3.1+ then you're screwed for the time being unless you get something like MyWi or PDANet to tether with.

I assume "most recent software to provide MMS" means you updated to 3.1

No, you can't. You can no longer tether until AT&T provides it and you pay for it.

And no, you can't roll back your firmware. If you had jail broken and saved some stuff with cydia, I think you can. But I have yet to try it (As I have not upgraded nor see any reason to; you can get mms on 3.0 now without upgrading to 3.1).

Edit: By using the carrier file hack. If you jailbreak, there are some apps that do it on Cydia.

Need more free/99 cent mindless games to play!

Post input! I'll add my favorites once I get my iTouch out of my car.

Can't remember if I saw it earlier in this thread or somewhere else and I'm too lazy to look right now, but Boxed In is a great game. Boxed In 2 just came out as well. Both are .99 at the moment. Can download the lite version to try it out.

The Dropbox app is great for viewing documents that you put in there. Dropbox is great in general too.

I recently got WhatsApp - iPhone-2-iPhone Messenger and it's nice. It's basically like the Blackberry Messenger without the shitty UI. It's iPhone to iPhone chat, has auto-push and you don't have to keep it open to stay logged in. It's ideal for people who don't have a Unlimited Text Messaging Plan (I have unlimited texts, but many iPhone users I know do not). Messages pop up just like they do for MMS.

From my understanding, they're trying to make it work with Blackberry Messenger, too.

It's FREE!

Really good for international 'texting' without having to pay.

Has anyone used the iPhone teatherd to a laptop and tryied playing EQ? I'm betting it's slow but would like to hear. Got good 3g coverage but no laptop. Wanted to hear if was worth trying. Work is slow some days and would like some eq or something to fill up some time. Thank you

I used to tether my old T-Mobile G1 when I had that and it was ok. Definitely not something that you would want to play on regularly due to the latency, but it was do-able.

I would imagine it to be the same on the iphone.

$20 for texting when you already have an unlimited data plan is such a scam. Glad they are finding ways around it. I expect this method to be blocked by Apple soon so AT&T can collect their $20/mo from everyone.

Update on WhatsApp, when you send a message don't instantly close the app or it won't send. Wait like 3-5 seconds.

I asked Mr. Furor if he wanted me to bring home some ribs yesterday while I was having lunch and then instantly closed the app. Needless to say, he didn't get it until I opened the app about 4 hours later.
