Can't see my ipod under My Computer

I set the folder options to show all hidden files and I've used that before to view the ipod like any other disk drive. I took what was on the ipod and copied it to my hd and imported all the songs then.

I know there's the encryption of the library issue but I can't see my ipod under my computer now. I'm running vista 64 bit. Any ideas why it won't show it? I accessed my ipod through itunes on this machine, I know it works... just can't see it...

here's what you do to solve:

1. buy a real mp3 player
2. throw ipod in trash

I usually leave it on top of my computer, way easier to find it that way. I am curious now... do you use it as a stand?

Or buy a used iAudio.... either/or. In addition to simply showing up as a normal external HD once you've flashed it with the custom firmware, you will get better sound quality, longer battery life, and be able to play FLAC (and almost any other encode).

If I recall, you have to go into iTunes and click the option "Use as Hard Drive" (or something very similar) which allows you to access it through my computer and use it as an external hard drive.

You have to be able to find the drive before you can Enable Disk though.
