+29 Internets | Yeah, on Lou Dobbs they were freaking out about NK possibly firing a rocket at Hawaii, ignoring the fact that they don't have even near the capability... If Japan retaliated, it would be funny. |

"Attack them and we dump all the US treasuries we have on the market..." In reality all they have to do is target and hit some uninhabited island close to Hawaii and say "Now... take us seriously" | |

+52 Internets | Haus, You really are a totally clueless person. China only backs NK as it causes them the least amount of hassle. They just don't want to deal with it. If NK is retarded enough to attack either SK, Japan or the US its fucking toast, and you would in all likelyhood see China as part of a multinational coalition. Everyone knows NK is a hellhole, China just doesnt want to be left holding the bag when it all comes apart.

| And they're back in the news again, saying that they want to wipe the US off the map. They are tracking that same suspicious ship still, and if it is intercepted it will be considered an act of war. N. Korea threatens US; world anticipates missile - Yahoo! News |

back in the days a few years ago when everyone was making fun of Obama for saying Pakistan was a real issue I agreed with him when it was unpopular to do so; when my fiance defended our involvement in Iraq and the concerns about Iran we found ourselves on different sides. I never agreed with the decision to go into Iraq (when 85% of the country supported it at first). I said 3-4 years ago the big issues were Pakistan and NK. Three years later Iran is still not on my radar as an immediate threat. (Possible threat yes, immenent no). Back to the war mongering of a non mongerer - I see zero downside to engaging NK now. Its like being a parent of a willful child. NK is pushing pushing pushing to see how much they can get away with. And the US continued to send them aid, rewarding the child for bad behavior. NK has figured out the game; no one has the balls to stop them so they will continue to do wtfever they want. For fucks sake all we're doing is shadowing a ship. Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh. Oh noes! Its only a matter of time. Personally, I think war is inevitable with them and they should be the ones on the wrong side of the "first strike" equation.

+75 Internets | I disagree. If they send their battleship on a trajectory towards the US, sink it, otherwise pursue no actions until they strike first. I'd rather the NKorea strike first as long as they didn't hit the US than have the US strike first. Besides, I still don't think NKorea will strike. |
