A friend of mine has a cousin that's in her final year in high school. She entered into a competition wherein the most internet voted gal gets a small scholarship...enough to cover books the first year I think + a small check.

Is it ok to ask for help here? She's a nice young person that could use a financial boost.

Not at all. I'm 10 years older than she is, and even if I was the same age as her, I'd stand zero chance. It isn't about that...just some small dollars that can really help her out next fall.
