I'm really looking forward to learning some woodworking when I have a house and the space for it. It's one of those things I've wanted to know how to do for years, and just never had a place to learn.

Plus what guy doesn't like an excuse to buy power tools

Yah, but I really don't think I could mention getting a power saw and not have him laugh hysterically in my face (lets just say I'm accident prone for arguments sake). What about one of those hand saws. Do you think I could do it with a non-powered saw? I have a better chance of getting something that has a lower injury risk associated with it.

I was so excited the day I got my first power drill. It's my most favorite thing ever (until I get a new washer and dryer).!

You can get a miter box, it will make the job a lot harder/longer but they are easy to use. But like I said, the major thing is measuring, it will look like ass if you don't measure it correctly.

I have something like that for slicing veggies, lol! That looks like something I'd enjoy owning, I like making stuff anyway and this would eliminate having to ask people who own saws to cut stuff for me.

I'll find some videos, I'm not sure how to measure. As you can see in the pictures, I have innie and outtie corners (my terminology is great). I was checking Craigslist for good moulding prices and found this picture.

I now have a kitchen goal.

As complex as that looks, it's really just a series of 45 degree cuts no?

Beats me, but eventually I'd like to deck out the kitchen similar to that (Tuscan style). The ROI is always win when you dump stuff in kitchen and bathrooms. I will be sure not to go too 'personal' (like my sons room) or it could backfire. I love this home, I'd be content dying here but I'm not sure the man doesn't have goals to be an old beach fart or something.

Once I empty my living room of furniture, I'll be starting my garden next week. I know it's not Home Improvement, but since others posted yards I may invade that, too.

I THINK that yeah, it's just a series of 45 degree cuts, but I don't really know. Normally I learn about things as I plan on doing them, so I don't really know much about crown molding (i don't plan on doing it because the ceiling in my living room would look weird with it) except reading some stuff and HGTV, I've never done it.

The concrete was stained a tan-ish color, and many parts now are returning to the original concrete color (gray). I hear acid washing or something was involved, then stain, and then gloss if I want (which I'm not going to do on patio or area surrounding pool to avoid injury) - which I think would help as far as cleaning goes on the actual 'stone' looking parts around the pool and the waterfall.

I'd rather it look like shit than pay one of these dicks to do it, because they charge ABSURD costs and then think I'm some retard and will try and say the whole goddamn area needs to be ripped up and replaced. I know they will because whoever did the patio didn't put expanders in, so it does have small cracks which I will fill in prior to staining and stuff.

Yup, buy the molding, cut to length and angle using mitre box, paint, nail it up. Crown Molding is pretty much required if you want to sell a house in Texas so we're putting it up in all the rooms.

As I sit here with a sore back, I'm happy I don't have to move or assemble much more. My camera sucks and gets spots on everything.

I went sale shopping and got a reversible comforter for 90% off ($11.00 total), accent pillows for 60% off ($14.99 each), duvet 80% off ($39.99). I forgot sheets (woops).

I'm going to flip it and use the gray side, I put it on when it was late and the room lighting made the gray look brown but my camera flash confirmed it's not brown (so has the daylight this morning).

The wall at the end of the bed will have a small TV mounted on it and two shelves underneath that are made out of skateboard decks that will hold the cable box and game console.

I changed the bedding around. I think I like this better. Still didn't get sheets. ><

Looks like I'll be starting in on my new place next Saturday. Looking to get the master bedroom painted over the weekend, and some general clean up done. A very large part of getting settled will be buying stuff I don't already have since I've been a college bum forever. I've never needed a rug before :P

Hopefully by the time I start my tax rebate will have cleared.

No, dbag! It's actually skater themed, my deco isn't done. A guildmate is making me custom stuff for the walls. Also, those aren't NASCAR colors.

He just finished some. They're 13 x 24", mirror finished stainless steel.
