+29 Internets | Again, they objected so much that they WENT WITH THEM. If they really gave a shit, they wouldn't have gone with them. it's not even that big of a deal, it's just amusing. Last edited by chaos; 03-30-2009 at 11:04 AM.. |

+30 Internets | Wow, it's totally irrelevant whether or not OP was trying to get into the party or not and damn everyone who let Etoille sucker you into arguing that path. Cops abused authority, whether or not OP was intending to commit a minor infraction is irrelevent. My first thought when reading the post was "LOL Karma" too. That is until I got to the part where the cops stole from individuals under the false authority of their badges. |

So Mippo and friends weren't angels, big deal. In no way does that diminish the betrayal of trust and office that the police engaged in.

+25 Internets | I'm lost. What is even the argument at this point? These individuals are not perfect jesus-like sinless individuals so what these cops did was just karma in action? They had it coming? Conspiracy to drive a dude to a party where he may or may not slip in with a fake bracelet? I do worse shit than that every day by accident. I know my friends like to drive over the speed limit and I ride in the car anyway! What will karma have in store for me?! O noes?! Oh shit, I just realized there was a thread on this very board where people were stealing pizzas. And the mods didn't shut the board down, call the police and personally see to it that justice was served. That's gotta be worth some police brutality, I'd say. |

Hell, you might even have a point if it was Mippo who was trying to sneak into the party but, according to him, he wasn't. Edit @ The Ancient: A fine would of been perfectly acceptable since for one, the fine would of more than likely of been aimed at the people who were actually going to commit the crime and two, it would of shown that the cops, ya know, actually gave a shit about the law that they're supposed to enforce. Cops committing theft against Mippo in this situation is the very definition of injustice.

| But he was there and knew it was happening. He didn't try to stop it in any real way. Further more yes sitting in the car while you KNOW someone else is committing a crime is being an accomplice and is illegal. That's how they get the get away drivers for bank robberies. Now is the theft of the tickets fair? hell no.. I would have went ape shit on them right there... made them take me to jail, where I would have filed a complaint with the city and the station. Further more I would do everything in my power to get them prosecuted for illegal S&S, grand theft, and abuse of power. Fucking sock it to the dumb fuckers. But to say Mippo was all innocent and shit is stupid at best. If you know a crime is being committed, and I could give a shit less what the crime was, and you don't try to stop it or at the very least distance yourself from said event then you are just as guilty as the people committing the crime and the law also agrees. Stealing is stealing wither it is 20 bucks from the club or 1200 in tickets.

Edit- Lets expand upon this further so you can see my point, because you probably still won't get it. If you are in the car with someone driving over the speed limit and he gets pulled over, are you issued a ticket for being in the car with someone driving over the speed limit? No.
