I'm pretty sure after numerous studies in Africa that male circumcision significantly reduces the chances of transmitting aids between partners during unprotected sex. As well as a minor but still significant reduction in the transmission of other STD's.

The foreskin is very susceptible to cuts/abrasions and subsequently infections. So there are medical reasons to have it done.

As an uncut child that grew up in the US, I want to say 3 things:

1) Address the social stigma around it. Granted, this has become much more of a norm today to stay uncut than it was in the past, but just address it: let the kid know what the difference is, and that it doesn't matter what the ignorant fools out there say.

The vast majority of Americans who get cut do it either for religion, or simply "because their father did it." No other reason. Yes, some do cut because their foreskin is too long or too tight, or other issues, but the vast majority have no problem.

Address it as a PARENT and it's not going to matter to the kid if he knows whats up, and not what other people say.

2) The women I've been with have never cared if it was uncircumcised. Half of them don't have a clue what a penis looks like outside of an erection, and when erect, your penis is more or less all the same. And if they do care, and think its nasty, then they're probably not worth your time.

The hygiene reason is stupid - just teach them at a young age to pull the foreskin back and clean it.

3) Once you snip, you can't get it back. Unless you have a medical or religious reason, don't bother - give them that choice when they're adults to see if they want it or not.

Plus, I can't prove this myself, but more than a few people have said that going from uncut to cut lowers sensitivity, and makes masturbation harder, so those are some points your son might want to thank you for later.

I for one know though that being uncut means lube isn't as big a deal, I don't deal with an overly dry dick, and when I'm bored playing with the penis is quite easy.

One added point is that most countries in the world where circumcision are prevalent do it for religious reasons (Israel, Muslim nations) or were once under heavy direct American influence (such as South Korea and the Phillipines). In Europe, Latin & South America, Australia/Oceania, and the rest of Asia, being cut is far in the minority and none of those countries have any problems with fucking.

Just do your job as a parent and there's no problem if they're uncut in America

And I damn well guarantee that 99% of people getting cut don't even worry about that particular reason as a reason to get cut - and frankly, unless you like putting your penis in street hookers and random animals, the difference in risk isn't going to make a significant difference in America assuming you practice safe sex

If you want it done freehand by a cosmetic surgeon to your specifications (tightness, loc of circ line, frenulum removal, whatever) it's around $1200.

HAY GUYS. I was in Afrika recentely and i guess lik most of the guys have their african sausages cut, and i also herd that theres lots of aids there. i think i might uh have the foundations for a scientific studdy.

You really are a fucking idiot aren't you? Ever detail they list in that article is cited with a link to the original medical journal peer-fucking-reviewed article.

And the study from Africa, was a study performed in Africa on behalf of the WHO trying to combat fucking aids. They ended it early because there was such a strong correlation between circumcision and infection and didn't feel right not giving the control group the option.

Think about rabbit ears, extremities tend to be larger in hot climate. It could also be related to evolution, in colder parts of the world running around nude is less common (since a couple thousand years), thus the measuring stick might be different. It could also be that african woman tend to have bigger than usual buttocks making it benefical / easier to mate with a longer one.
