+74 Internets | HDD problem Having trouble with my IDE WD 800gb HDD, it's not showing up as an accessable volume. The drive is recognized in bios, I can hear it spinning up during start but when windows is loading it stops. It's not listed in Computer Management. Device Manager shows the drive but there's a yellow exclamation Quote:

| Disconnect the IDE cable completely, start up windows, shutdown, reconnect it, and then start up windows again. Otherwise, try putting both devices on that IDE channel in Cable Select. They make 800gb IDE harddrives? I couldn't find one on newegg or WD's website. Do you have a part number?

I got it to work now. Unplugged it, booted, it ran a checkdisk on my c drive, plugged it back in on a different IDE and changed the jumper from slave to master/slave and it's showing again. Thanks! | |
