| Arbiter's link actually says the bill doesnt cover illegal aliens. Then the commentator turns that around. He seems to be saying the bill shouldnt cover illegal aliens harder. Thus, it does cover illegal aliens. It's like arguing drugs really are legal because we dont catch everyone that does them. On a different note, the "public option will be a mandate, not a choice!" reasoning is stupid. Thats like saying because there are public buses in a city everyone is forced to ride them. +63 Internets | Its crazy talk again... BECAUSE THERE IS ALREADY A FUCKING LAW ON THE BOOKS THAT PREVENTS THAT! This is like arguing with a grapefruit. Do you get it now Arbiter.. Is it clear enough? Was the language plain enough... Its already illegal. They don't need to preclude it. Goddamn. Cant we move onto the next baseless accusation now? |

+63 Internets | The enforcement is you get FIRED FROM YOUR JOB. Are you serious? No enforcement? Use your goddamn brain. Why would a government bureaucrat approve of illegal aliens getting care if they will lose their job. Secondly.. FRAUD IS ALREADY A FUCKING CRIME. Ok. Get it? A government employee would have to commit fraud to get coverage for an alien if the law says that they shall not receive it. Do you know what fraud is? Its... like ILLEGAL ALREADY. can you stop it now.. please... Im starting to lose faith in humanity. |

If a rule says "No flip flops at work" but doesnt add "there will be a flip flop check point at the front door" does the rule allow flip flops to be worn at work or not? Last edited by Simas; 09-09-2009 at 07:34 PM..

Say you have an illness that costs $40k/year and you have a lifetime cap of $200k. After 5 years, you would have hit your cap and you'd lose your insurance benefits. As it is now, you couldn't get any insurance to cover the illness, because now it is a known pre-existing condition. You might be able to get group coverage through a (large) employer, but no individual insurance. If companies cannot deny you for a pre-existing condition, the lifetime cap makes no sense anymore: otherwise you're kicked out of insurance A, only to sign up with insurance B that would have to pay for your illness. There'd be a perverse incentive to kick sick patients to other insurance companies.
