What's funny is those guys cheering will have no job under Santelli's plan because it's their bosses that were the ones who securitized those bad mortgages so they could keep buying them and keep buying them. But by all means blame one half of the problem if it makes you feel better. As if somehow Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid forced those banks and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to make loans* to people who couldn't or wouldn't pay them back, but for some reason now that "good" and "honest" companies need loans to keep their businesses afloat these same banks can't give them money.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

*dirty secret: most of these banks didn't make the loans; they bought them from assholes who did and knew they were shit when they made them.

Just stop. You'd be criticizing Obama no matter WHAT actions he took. You're a partisan, just like... well, most of the country, sadly. You act like Obama made this mess. You act like your guys weren't in absolute and total control of the government for 6 years and did absolutely NOTHING to prevent this. He's inherited a mess. He has to do something to fix it, and the only way to fix this is to stop bleeding jobs and to get money in the hands of people who will actually spend it rather than people who are going to hide it somewhere offshore. Would it be better if he sat there dumbfounded and read "My Pet Goat" while the economy tanked?

Sometimes I really think republicans make these messes just so they can blame the next guy for not fixing them. That's the real problem right now, conservatives, particularly the ones with all the money but also the ignorant redneck masses, don't WANT Obama to succeed, because they know if he does fix this mess, it means the end for their entire political belief system.

LOL, I'm so glad McCain lost. Incoming huge Republican gains in 2010 and setting up the coup de grace in 2012 with our new young and ethnic candidate.

PS: Dear liberal sissies, please use more imagination when giving me -internets, just plain "FUCK YOU" is boring after the last 13 people said essentially the same thing.

How much are you willing to bet on this not working? Everything? How do you really know this won't work? Because it goes against your conservative philosophies, you know, the ones that got us here in the first place?

What's odd is some of you defending your choice of picking Obama when republicans/conservatives/unknown start to gloat over Obama decision xxxxx. As if what McCain Palin would have done would have been better. Laughable.

I had two choices and I chose the better one. Should it not bring about the coming of the gods I will not regret my decision. Obama was and still is the better decision.

In any event when Obama makes a decision based on current information and advice from experts/advisers on hand it's called flip-flopping. When you or I do it it's called smart decision making.

Laughable really. One should never feel the need to defend their position if they made it in the best manner they could at the time.

And then what will you do with those gains? Fuck the country up some more so when you inevitably lose the next pendulum swing, you'll have even more shit to pin on the opposition? Eventually someone has to you know, actually start governing and actually start fixing the problem rather than conflating them to score political points on the next turn of the great cycle that is two-party American politics.

Oh, and if republicans, especially John McCain know what we SHOULD be doing to fix the problem, why don't they start proposing some solutions. And no, "lolcuttaxesonrichpeople" doesn't work, because we did that for 8 years and we're still in this mess anyway. "lolstartawarbecausewarsaregoodfortheeconomy" doesn't work either. And go complain about the lack of bipartisanship some more, let us remember how bipartisan congress was from 2000-2006. Conservatives need to start realizing they lost the last election in nearly every race they possible could lose, and that their ideas failed and it's time to go back to the drawing board.

In the long term Keynesian stimulus spending produces gigantic market corrections and social strife.

Yeah, and wars are good for the economy, right? We just had a gigantic market correction caused by deregulation of the fundamentals of our money supply. The lessons of 20th century economics do not apply, they applied to a very specific set of circumstances that occurred in the 20th century and do not generalize to the current world economy which resembles the 20th century economy in absolutely no way.

The republicans current solution for this economic crisis is doing the same thing we’ve been doing. That’s like a fireman watching a house burn for 10 minutes doing nothing and saying “Well if we keep doing what were doing the fire will eventually go out”

herh, I really love all this "the sky is falling" bullshit. Oh and now we have someone calling for a Republican blowout in 2010? EL OH fucking EL.

Yeah we'll see about that, chief. Propaganda aside, I think people generally remember who dug this ditch we're stuck in right now.

Not that I want to be that partisan but god damn dude. Anyone who even casually keeps up with politics is not predicting a good year in 2010 for Republicans, but here comes Chips, he knows what's going on in the streets! Yeah! Democrats have been in power for a month and look at this recession they caused! We need to go back to the conservative philosophy that has served us well these past few years! Goddamn tax and spend Democrats.

A month in, and the idiots are already condemning Obama. Why did I expect this?

Makes total sense though, because Bush's first month was indicative of what he would carry out, amirite?

I hear alot of knocks on the stimulus.. but I don't hear ideas.

What are your brilliant plans?

More trickle down tax cuts? Do nothing and pretend to be an Ostrich?

btw, speaking of brilliant ideas from the "party of ideas"

Quote:
Newly elected Republican National Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele plans an “off the hook” public relations offensive to attract younger voters, especially blacks and Hispanics, by applying the party’s principles to “urban-suburban hip-hop settings.”

The RNC’s first black chairman will “surprise everyone” when updating the party’s image using the Internet and advertisements on radio, on television and in print, he told The Washington Times.

Good Luck in 2010/2012!
