Same. As others have mentioned, the inaugural is:

1. Mostly for the people's enjoyment;

2. As much a celebration of the departure of Dubya and Cheney as it is the arrival of Obama and Biden.

Referring to some who posted after me...

I don't care if they make Obama dinner plates or action figures, that's fine. It's the putting Obama's face ON the American flag and putting him standing in FRONT of our founding fathers on coins and shit like that.

I find it highly disrespectful to the country and our founding fathers. They can make Obama dinner wear, toys, clothes, cars, whatever. They can make that shit till their head explodes. It's just putting him on things he has no right and never will have the right to be on or in front of or even compared to. That's all I was bitching about

That's going a bit far.

This country is in a shithole of dumbassery at the moment, and someone needs to pull it out, slap the shit out of it, and set it back on the path it should have been on 50 years ago.

I do share your sentiments that he doesn't deserve to be on a coin quite yet, since I saw those ads before he even took fucking office, but going so far to say that he'll never have the right to stand with people who made this country great is a bit presumptuous. Just thru the natural course of things, Obama will end up being a great president because several problems will very likely get worked out during his term. The economy WILL turn around, like it always does. Iraq and Afghanistan should be fairly well wrapped up, and he'll be the man in charge when they are.

Obama is in a good position to become one of the great presidents. It is, however, pretty much impossible for us to see since we're living in the moment. Lets wait for our grandchildren to make that determination.

For the first time in my adult life. Someone on TV, a politician at that, struck me in a way that I haven't ever experienced. I feel in a way inspired by his speech and really hope that he achieves great things. We can only hope.
